There are only 2 elevators for over 20 floors and housekeeping uses these 2 elevators as well which means once you get on the elevator it's likely going to stop on every floor. While we were there one elevator went out and within a few hours the 2nd elevator went out (first one still not fixed).

The staff was great. They let us check in early. Room was small but clean. Elevators were a disaster. There were only two elevators and one was out the whole Time we were there. The morning we were to check out, the second elevator also went out. We had to climb to the 24th floor. My husband called front desk and asked for help with our luggage. The manager came right up and got our luggage. He took us to the elevator they told us was out. There was an employee there with a key who gave us a ride straight down. Was very annoyed that the same employee made us walk up 24 flights of stairs and told us we’d have to carry our 3 suitcases back down. It was a frustrating day!!

Tight fits, thin walls and broken elevators
First off, I love the location of this hotel. Very convenient to Times & Herald square without the same level of crazy crowds. Penn station and several subway lines are all within a block or two of the hotel making it extremely easy to get around the city. You cannot go wrong if location and ease of travel is a feature you're seeking out. The bad. The elevators went down partway through my stay. The remaining days of my stay only one elevator was working making it painfully long to wait for an elevator, most times I took the stairs going down after. A 27 floor hotel, this is a big concern. Walls were a little thin, and the neighbor nextdoor had the tv turned up a few times. Not enough to complain, but noticeable. The layout of the bathroom was interesting and a tight fit. I get this is Manhattan and hotel rooms tend to be small. The main problem I saw was the hand towel holder was next to the electrical switch/outlets, and hanging so that hand-towels ended up in the sink and under the faucet. In the attached picture you can see what I mean. I realize the bathroom size means a smaller vanity, but simply putting the hand towel holder on the other side of the mirror where the lotion was hung up and moving the lotion next to the switch and above the faucet would have fixed this. The next to last day I was there the towel holder also came loose from the wall and was hanging by the screw. Except for thin walls, these issues were all fixable.

A nice little place, from my room I could see half of the Empire State building. Beautiful at night all lit up. But one of the two elevators broke and it was down for two days. Not a good feeling only having one elevator working on the 21st floor.. The staff is fantastic! I definitely go back. The location is pretty good as well. Parking garage on the next street up and basically across the street. Heavy NYPD presence. Bravo Pizza a block away had very good pizza. There’s also a Starbucks 2 blocks away in a McDonald’s a block away. The room was in very good quality despite being small, which is typical in New York.

The room was clean and included a mini fridge and coffee-maker, as well as a bar and dining option in the hotel. The cleaning staff was courteous and helpful. The toilet ran the whole time, but I just kept the bathroom door closed. The main issue during my stay was the fact that both elevators (which are quite small) did not work properly during my 4 night stay. At one point I had to walk down 20 flights (thankfully not up!) to simply exit the building, because they were both not working. I don't know how they accommodated people with mobility issues. The staff had to help people out of the stuck elevators at least once. I would not want to risk getting stuck in the elevator during another stay.

Very close to Penn Station. Room was clean, staff was nice and we got free hot chocolate chip cookies upon check in! Also have a nice area to sit outside the hotel.

Terrible hotel. Literally stay anywhere else. Elevators are always broken so you have to take the stairs up and down 24 floors. Front desk is rude and won’t relocate you to a lower floor even if you can’t climb all those stairs. I reserved a king bed and got a double bed. Hotel is noisy and all you hear are doors slamming. Do not recommend at all.
