We had a perfectly acceptable stay for five evenings at this Red Carpet Inn. Having stayed at different Red Carpet Inns previously, we knew what we were getting into, so we had no problems, but if you are new to RCI, then please keep in mind:
Pros:
- Inexpensive - this is the main reason to stay here
- Odd furniture layout in the room, but more than sufficient for our purposes.
- Seemed safe enough (room and neighborhood)
- Very convenient to food shopping, gas stations, franchise restaurants, etc.
- About a 15 minute, easy drive to Niagara Park - not much traffic
- Free and easy parking right in front of the room.
- Every room is on the ground floor, so no worries about carrying luggage up stairs.
Cons:
- RCI is not a luxury chain - don't expect it!
- Check in took about 15 minutes, because no one was at the desk and we had to call on the phone to get service.
- Key card "broke" the first day and needed to be replaced. No problem doing so, but we had to wait for a few minutes for someone to come to the front desk. Wasn't a big issue, just took some extra time.
- No daily towel or linen service, but if you ask for it, you can get what you want.
Overall:
If you are planning to leave the room in the morning and return at night to sleep, you'll find this RCI to be a perfectly acceptable motel. It's not a "location hotel" in which to spend a lot of time, but it is a very good low cost alternative if you just need a place to stay.
