Beautiful property with friendly staff. The valet staff are amazing although parking is expensive. Many good restaurant choices nearby. Close to waterfront. The courtyard specifically and the hotel overall was quaint and enjoyable. We would stay here again.

No sleeping in

The room was comfortable but we were not able to sleep in, one of the things we were looking forward to after a long day of travel and another one coming up, due to the sounds outside our window. They were setting up for the chinese new year street festival, power washing the street, dragging wagons of goods.... starting in the very early morning. Bummer. I wish the front desk would have asked us about what type of stay we were looking for. The front desk was kind enough to give us coupons for the trolley hopper, but were not sure how we were to get the discount. Unfortunately we weren't able to use the coupons because you are actually supposed to get on and then pay at the first stop. Oh well, so much for that.

The Horton was very historic, and interesting in that respect. There happened to be a "march" going on when I was trying to arrive, which was simply inconvenient! I was esp. impressed with the lady at the desk who helped me get a cab. Thank you! Also the doorman -- he was very friendly and helpful. My pet peeve -- the price!

January 2025 stay

Our stay at The Horton was last minute but turned out to be very enjoyable. While the hotel is older, that is part of the charm, it was a very clean hotel with friendly staff. I would stay there again.

Could use a little updating. Bathroom fixtures were corroded so shower was hard to activate. Sink handles need to be replaced. Room was very quiet, bed was comfortable and room fridge was appreciated! Staff spent a lot of time on their phones and didn't look up when we entered the lobby.
