I didn't really know what to expect when I booked this motel, but was pleasantly surprised. It is an older motel in downtown San Francisco, so you can't compare it to the big highrise hotels overlooking the bay, but the price difference reflects that. This is an older (vintage?) Motel that is kept up very well by the friendly staff. The room was surprisingly clean for it's age, which I greatly appreciate. The bed sheets and blankets were all white which I also appreciate knowing they are washed and cleaned unlike the colored bed spreads at other hotels. The rooms are on the small side if you have 4 people in a 2 bed room as we did, but certainly manageable.
One of the biggest perks is the included parking, which is rare in this city, especially near the wharf. Most other places were charging up to $60 to park on top of their outrageous rates. We were able to walk down and back to the piers each day, but there are also plenty of other travel options if your not up for walking.
The one disappointing part of our stay was the included "breakfast". It is a bare minimum so they can include free breakfast in their postings. The breakfast is in a little room with a standing only bar to eat at. The breakfast consists of cheap white bread for toast, 4 types of dry cereal, and some prepackaged pastrys (snack cakes) along with a coffee machine and a juice machine with orange and apple juice. There may have been oatmeal packets too, I don't recall, we only bothered to go
