Attended a conference in Los Angeles...my wife decided to join me and was looking forward to using the pool and gym. We were not notified of those closures until AFTER it was too late to switch hotels. In fact, it's still listed on the Expedia page as a current amenity of the hotel. Upon check in we noticed that our first room that the sink did not drain. I called down and was told to gather our stuff after we had unpacked, come down and they would switch rooms. Room 2...We were placed in a room right across from the house keeping storage rooms...my wife said she heard people slamming the door until at least midnight. The next morning at 7:30 AM we heard and were awoken by yelling, loud voices coming from that open room...I looked out and that door was wide open...shouldn't the staff know people are sleeping by that room? I asked to change rooms, and we were moved to our third room. Due to building upgrades the power and water being turned off at different times during the course of our stay was an inconvenience. In the 3rd room when we returned back around 11pm on we discovered that the heater/Ac unit did not work at all...a maintenance person came up and took about 20 minutes to get it to work. Both of our keys stopped working and my wife had a challenging experience trying to get the front desk to redo her key while I was out. Hot water stopped working as well. The hotel refunded my destination charges which I appreciated but would have liked a night to be as well.

The Sonesta Hotel Los Angeles offers a wonderful stay with its modern amenities, friendly staff, and prime location. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-maintained, while the on-site services, including the restaurant and fitness center, add extra convenience. It was just what my husband and I needed, cute and small. It had a fresh new building smell. We were a little bummed the gym wasn’t open. But all in all it was a standard comfy hotel.

I ended my time in California at Sonesta after visiting San Diego, Sequoia National Park, Channel Island and LA. Sonesta was the BEST! Option since it's so close to the airport and offers a free shuttle.
