Welcome to Lena Cabin at Wauhatchie Woodlands, a Timberroot Rustic Retreat.
Lena is one of our bunk bed cabins, perfect for families. During your stay, you’ll enjoy a private hot tub, furnished back deck, fire pit, covered front porch with charcoal grill, and an incredibly memorable, charming space surrounded by nature. Lena can comfortably sleep up to 6 guests between the main bedroom, built in bunk beds, and sleeping loft. The cabin is equipped with a full kitchen, smart TV, and more.
Trains & Noise:
Chattanooga is a city known for its railroads. There are active train tracks that border the property to the north and I-24 is about half a mile away. Please note that light sleepers may be affected by the ambient city and train noise. Each cabin has been equipped with a white noise machine to help minimize any disturbance.
Pet Policy:
We are pleased to offer pet-friendly accommodations under specific terms and conditions. As a guest of Wauhatchie Woodlands, you agree to adhere to the following policies.
A fee of $35 applies if you wish to have your pet accompany you during your stay at Wauhatchie Woodlands. Your pet must be approved and added to your reservation in advance to your stay. No pets over 50 lbs.
The $35 fee is a one-time, per pet fee that must be collected in advance of your stay. We allow up to 2 pets. The one-time fee for 2 pets is $50.
Pets are not allowed on any furniture or bedding. Therefore, all pets must be crated overnight and crated when left unattended for any amount of time. You have the option of reserving a pet crate for the entirety of your stay for $15. Please contact Guest Services to arrange your rental.
Your pet(s) must be leashed at all times when outside on the property. All waste must be picked up and disposed of. No aggressive dogs are allowed on the property.
The pet owner is responsible for all damages or injury caused by their pet during their stay.
Pets are not allowed at certain lodgings on the property. Please reference your reservation for policy-specific details regarding your lodging.
If there is evidence of non-compliance with the policies stated above, penalty fees will apply. Management reserves the right to assess each situation differently and use discretion when applying damage or penalty fees.

$100 Evidence of pet within a lodging that is not pet friendly
$70-$500+ Damages to lodging, furnishings, equipment, etc that must undergo cleaning or replacement. (ex. chewed door frames, soiled bed sheets, excessive pet hair on bedding or furnishings)
We realize that accidents happen so please contact Guest Services immediately if a situation arises and damages occur.
Deposits:
Please note that guests residing in the Greater Chattanooga Metropolitan Area will be charged a $200 refundable deposit subsequent to receiving their booking confirmation. Please review our policy forbidding parties, events and unregistered guests to ensure your stay abides with this policy and does not jeopardize your deposit.
No Smoking:
Smoking, vaping, and the use of e-cigarettes is prohibited inside Timberroot properties.
Not only does smoking leave behind unwelcome odor and residue, but it can be extremely dangerous in a 100% wooden home. You may smoke/vape outside on the deck. However, please ensure that windows and doors are closed so that the smoke/vapor does not enter the building.
Cigarette butts should be fully extinguished and disposed of properly in exterior trash receptacles. Any evidence of smoking/vaping or smoke/vapor damage or odor inside the property or cigarette damage/debris on the exterior of the property during your stay will result in a $150 fine, due to non-compliance with our stated policies.
Pests:
We take great care to ensure our properties are free from pests. Our properties are regularly treated by professional pest control and our staff takes preventative measures to keep pests out.
However, as our properties are located in wooded areas, it is possible for guests to encounter insects and/or small woodland creatures like mice. If you do encounter an unwelcome pest inside your lodging, please contact our Guest Services team immediately so that our grounds team can address the problem as quickly as possible. We ask that guests help us prevent pests by keeping doors and window screens closed and maintaining proper cleanliness during their stay.
By booking with us, you accept that encountering insects and woodland creatures is a possibility and that no refunds will be issued for such instances.
All of our cabins are equipped with keyless entry systems that make check-in and check-out a fully automated process. Full instructions will be provided prior to your check-in date.

A short walk from the property is the Skyuka Springs trailhead, which will connect you to Sunset Rock, Point Park, the Chattanooga Nature Center, and more. Raccoon Mountain Caverns are only 4 miles away and offer both walking and wild cave exploration tours. If you’re here for rock climbing, you’ll be less than a mile from Sunset Rock Climbing Crag, with Tennessee Wall and many other climbing spots just a few miles away. Located right off the Tennessee river, a day on (or in) the water is close at hand, with several conveniently located boat drops and ample opportunities for rafting, kayaking, or SUP-ing.

If history is what attracted you, Wauhatchie Woodland sits a stones throw from the site of the decisive Civil War “Battle Above the Clouds.” The property is bordered by National Park land, preserving the historic battlefield. Point Park, at the top of Lookout Mountain includes several Civil War memorials and an interpretive center. The area has long, rich history dating back thousands of years to the early Cherokee people who called the mountain Chat-a-nu-ga, the city's namesake.
You’ll have your cabin all to yourself during your stay. Wauhatchie Woodlands is a 14-acre property surrounded by National Forest. Guests have access to trails around the grounds, as well as shared pavilions, community fire pits, and playground. Please be respectful of other guests during your stay.
To make the most of your stay, we recommend a car to get around. Each of our tiny cabins can accommodate two cars in private driveways.
UBER and Lyft are available throughout the Chattanooga area, in addition to a number of local taxi services. Please note that availability may be extremely limited during peak times.
The city of Chattanooga offers reasonably priced parking on the street and in several public parking lots.
A free electric shuttle bus runs between the Chattanooga Choo Choo and the Tennessee Aquarium with stops at every block. The buses run every 15 minutes, Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 10 pm, Saturday from 9:30 am to 11 pm, and Sunday from 9:30 am to 8:30 pm. Bus schedules may vary, please consult the Chattanooga Area Regional Transit Authority website for the most up to date schedules.
Bike Chattanooga offers bike share rentals at 42 self-service kiosk locations all around downtown Chattanooga. With over 300 bicycles and 50 e-bikes this is a great way to explore the city. Visit Bike Chattanooga’s website to learn more.
