Weekend Horror in Merced California
The weather was pretty hot 108 for Merced, upon checking into our room we noticed the pool area rope off closed and green water and trash all in the pool! We tried to go get Ice and ice machine out of order and the vending machine are out of order!! We go to turn on our TV and No Signal TV out of order! No WiFi service either at this hotel . We went to complain to front desk and wouldn't answer the door. I went back to the room use the phone rang rang they wouldn't answer!!! We were so exhausted from our trip from Las Vegas Nevada to Merced California we said we would try and talk to them on Saturday the agent said his manager will get back to me. Never happened upon check out Sunday morning there office closed and no answer the phone either on this day . Horrible experience with this location. The only one thing I can say was they had good AC and good water pressure for cold showers! Never coming back to this property again Jorge Martinez

Worst experience, had to be switch out of rooms three times. Manager was very unpleasant, he was sleeping and seemed annoyedwhen we arrived for check in. We checked in at around 7pm. We selected this hotel because of the pool (I have pictures) Pool was out of service, green water. First room- the bathroom lights were out Second room- smoke smell, we had requested non-smoking. Third room- our final option, dirty, air-conditioner smelled weird and curtains were all stained. Manager, was very rude, was not answering our calls and lock himself in the office for hours. Other guest waited up to an hour to check in.

I went to check in and no one was at the reception desk to check me in. After getting there the pool was half empty and looked like a sewer the doors to all the rooms had peeled paint and all in all it looked run down. From the lack of personal it seriously looked like no one worked there anymore

Houskeeping didn't come in the room to clean, not once in 4 days. The waste baskets were not emptied. The shower was lukewarm to cold. The swimming pool was filthy and looked like it hadn't been used in years. The bed sheets looked as though they hadn't been changed. I should have checked out on the first day but the reservation was prepaid and I doubt I would have gotten a refund, so I toughed it out, I won't do that again!

We checked in and checked out within the hour,we had a very low wi-fi signal, the pool was empty and full of trash while it’s 110 degrees out, should have had it ready for summer! The room itself was clean but definitely not what you see in pictures, there’s just enough space in the room for you to walk in, not comfortable for two or more people, bathroom door wouldn’t close, and in a room that small you definitely need the bathroom door to close, definitely a two star type of hotel for one person

I expect a Travel Lodge to at least be clean. Sheets and towels were not white and had smudges of light brown on them. Bugs in room. Check in man was Luke warm at best. I would not stay at this one in Merced again. 😢

So upon arrival the office was closed & a sign stated “Closed” I’ve always stayed at this hotel since my son began attending UC Merced almost 4 years ago. This time was different, the hotel was dirty but most importantly UNSAFE. My son & daughter were with me & there were a few people walking around the parking lot, a guy looked in our room as he walked by, knocked on a room door upstairs & then proceeded to walk back by look in our room again. The room smelled like smoke, I asked to be changed but then a homeless woman tried to go in the laundry woman with her bag of clothes & the office clerk had to go and kick her out. I went to call the front office & there was no phone cord it was just the phone which tells me that if I did need help I wouldn’t be able to get any. My kids & I immediately got out of there. The young man, i believe the owners son, cancelled my room. I’ve never had issues but this time it was completely unsafe for me & my family.

The pictures showed something completely different from what we got in person we asked why the room look different from the pictures and said if we came earlier we would’ve gotten the rooms in the pictures. It was basically like a first come first serve but they never stayed it until the booking or else we would’ve came earlier. The too we got was extremely small and the bed was a full, we had booked for a queen. We called the front office and they asked for 20$ extra for one of the rooms we originally booked for. False advertisement don’t recommend.

Stay away from this place. I usually read the review of a place before I book, but, knowing that I had good experience with Travelodge by Windham, I blindsided booked this place WITHOUT read the reviews. Apparently, this became the worst hotel I stayed during my trip. All the things that all bad reviews given by people is true! I notice there are some good reviews, I wonder, is it a bot? So here's the list: 1. It stated in the advertisement that we will get breakfast, apparently, we did not! 2. The pool is not working 3. The most essential thing which is hot shower, is not working! The concierge said he will check, but he never came. 4. The phone is not working. 5. The ice maker machine is not working. 6. There is no smoke detector, they uninstall it. 7. The concierge is not nice at all. It seems the whole family lives there. 8. The peephole on the door is broken and they just put tissue to cover it! 9. Not enough key security for the door. 10. The room and situation is not as it advertised. 11. It says they have 24hour concierge, but I was there at 2pm, 7am, 8am, 10am, it was closed. 12. The wifi is not working. I think Windham should revoke this place as part of their chain!
