Hotel is in the best location in the city - two blocks from Rockefeller/Radio City, one block from subway, two blocks from best diner near Carnegie Hall, close enough to walk to 5th Ave, just down from Central Park, not right in Times Square which is great but close enough to walk anytime. Loved location. No free coffee, have pay $6 at lobby cafe to get one. Should offer free. No AC in winter, only heat. Cracked window open all night but still 77 deg in room (20 deg outside) AND that's w the heater turned off. Shower is small and no seat inside, bed was quite uncomfortable. Please provide free coffee and keep AC available even in winter.

There are suspicions people hang around entry. Feels unsafe. One bar of soap for four days. Third elevator out of service. About 15 minutes wait several times. Welcome staff indifferent. Lobby eating area leaves a lot to be desired. We partially owned several Hiltons in past. Service was excellent. It has declined in midtown Hilton. Will not return.

Rooms are run down. Windows are not well insulated for sound even on the 16th floor. Furniture is dated. Headboard is faux leather and peeling; crumbles onto the bed. They charge to keep your bags until your flight ($5 each). The cleaning staff are very nice.
