We booked our birthday stay for my mom and I as a birthday celebration and relaxation. Both of our birthdays. Our room all three days was loud and dusty. They had construction going on one floor above us. Banging and drilling…. We called front desk both days and they didn’t offer another room. We had to record for our records how loud it was. At checkout the front desk wasn’t helpful at all and finally management only gave credit for one night. So disappointed with their customer service.

The heat went out two days before we arrived. We were offered a free cancellation. However, this was unhelpful. I booked this hotel two months before our stay to want to avoid an expensive hotel room and a last-minute decision. We looked at hotel prices around the area after we were notified however they were significantly more expensive than what we initially paid. It was ridiculously cold so we ended up purchasing a heated blanket. An offer of a partial refund should have been suggested by the hotel. But it was not so we paid full price the price of a heated blanket for a very cold hotel room. Also, from our second to last night our room kept getting whiffs of sewage.

The property would have been perfect in every way…except the boiler was out and there was NO heat. We know that couldn’t be helped and the staff gave us plenty of extra blankets. But we could relax in the room with out getting in the bed and under covers. We will stay there again if the need arises.

I was checked in for my 4 night stay by a lovely lady, who advised the heating unit in my allocated room wasn’t working, offering another room or extra blankets whatever I would prefer. My room on the 6th floor had a balcony & view of the hillside & harbour and although the decor is dated, was clean & tidy. The daily breakfast was fantastic! A menu of cereals, toasts, muffins, hot food, waffles or pancakes, juices, hot drinks continuously stocked by staff on hand. The venue has a good location, not too far from downtown. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, enjoyed my stay.

The hotel needs updating.. the bathroom had strips hanging off the sink.. it felt old and musty. I was too tired to pack everything up and ask for a different room. They had no heat and said we could cancel for free and that they had sent an email offering free cancelation but we never got any email and we arrived at night so there was no time to try to find another hotel. The hotel should also put out signs that you need to walk around to the entrance. When we first pulled in, we couldn't tell where to check in.

The location was perfect for us as we enjoy quiet areas, and this spot was both peaceful and conveniently close to great restaurants. However, the facility is quite outdated and there were nails sticking out of the carpet, which was a safety concern. While the space was clean, the bed and pillows were uncomfortable. On a positive note, the staff were great and friendly, and parking was both convenient and free.

Ive stayed at this hotel twice before and it was fine. This time though the heating for the rooms was down the entire time and breakfast is still a Covid (plastic utensils, paper plates) variety.
