Gorgeous mid-mod hotel in perfect location

Gorgeous Palm Springs hotel in the classic Mid-Mod design. Room exceeded expectations with its huge closet and well-equipped kitchen. Lovely period bathroom with powerful shower. Unbeatable location in Historic Tennis Club, five mins walk to Palm Canyon Drive

A favorite in Palm Springs

We have stayed here numerous times over the past 10 years because we love it! Perfect location (just 5 blocks from downtown in historic Tennis District), small size, quiet and comfortable rooms. Our room has been updated and redesigned in very mid-century vibes and was very cool. Kitchenette, back patio, fabulously strong shower. Only downside as the pool heater was broken making swimming impossible. But the management kindly offered availability to the pool at their nearby property which was fine. Also the jacuzzi has been on the fritz for a few years and hopefully that should be resolved by the summer. No management on the grounds but very easy to contact them.

We were really happy with the retro style of the room, cleanliness and the staff. Unfortunate that the hot tub was under renovation and had to have a cold shower on the last day due to some renovations on the property, but I’m OK with that.

Loved the mid century feel of Desert Hills. So well done. It’s like time traveling to the rat pack days. The property and the setting is beautiful. Would definitely recommend and look forward to booking again.

Very quaint and clean. Easy walk down to shopping and restaurants. Nice pool area. Check in is a bit strange without a front desk or ability to drop off bags if you arrive early but the guy across the street at Orbit Inn looked after us. My friend had suite 1 which was remodeled and beautiful. I had room 8 which needs a refresh.

Cute stay in Palm Springs! Nice pool and apartments with big comfy bed. Parking is free and right outside and the property is within a coded gate so feels very safe. Location was perfect too

Very quiet hotel, with all rooms circling a central courtyard and pool. Great location close to the main strip of bars and restaurants. Other guests were very friendly. The A/C in the room worked great. Complementary snacks and drinks were available in the fridge including much appreciated bottles of water. We unplugged the fridge overnight to make the room silent.

Parking and checking-in easy. Located in a quiet neighborhood. We stayed in a room #11 the only one that didn’t face the pool, but the back alley next to trash cans. Bed matress and pillows were okay not great. Vertical blinds didn’t work properly when we’re trying to open them up, just started falling down and the pole was attached to the railing with a tape.carpet needs to be replaced-it’s very old and not very clean. The bathroom also needs upgrades.please see attached picture. But when we called to report slow drainage in the sink it was addressed quickly. Hopefully other rooms are better maintained than ours.

Retro Experience

Palm Springs is always a relaxing and fun time. We opted not to stay in a traditional hotel. This quaint bungalow style hotel had about 15 one story rooms surrounding a beautiful and clean poo with a magnificent mountain back drop. It's like being back in time! The room we had was incredibly spacious and extremely clean. It's still an older place but very well kept. There were even snacks and drinks for us upon our arrival, nice touch! Just so you know, there were no staff to great us or check in but rather the hotel efficiently communicated with us through a live person text that would respond back to you. We truly enjoyed our stay and would come back!

Our second stay here at Desert Hills and just as enjoyable as the first. Very walkable to everything downtown. Love the mid century architecture. Hosts are very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.

Beautiful spot up against the mountains, surrounded by Palm trees. Sounds of the birds were delightful. So many Hummingbirds early in the morning. Extremely clean, comfortable efficiency room. Easy access to the sites. Gondola ride and Architectural tour were highlights.
