Ok, but needs to be refreshed/updated.
I’ve stayed here for years. On my recent stay I found the hotel rooms really needing a spruce up. Carpets and furnishings were dirty, broken fixtures and taps. It was a bit gritty -needs uber cleaning. The towels and sheets were bare and needing to be updated. It’s time for a room refresh.

Parking charge annoying. Will not support it
I needed to stay near the Alberta Legislature. Chose Matrix. Upset that they tried a $35 Impark parking upcharge that is a spurious, excessive charge as the parking lot is huge and empty.

The Matrix Hotel is a very good property to use when in downtown Edmonton. While it is on the edge of what I'd consider to be comfortable distance to the Ice District, the distance to just about anything downtown is no more than a 20 min walk or a short drive. There is a Starbucks just outside the front door and a Tim Hortons a block away - and plenty of restaurants close by. Overall, I'd stay here again.
