Very well appointed. Comfort is at the forefront… basket of Afghans in the sitting room for chilly evenings or sitting out on the deck, bottles of water in the room, board games, magazines. Fresh coffee, home made breads and jams. Warm, soft, clean bedding. Home is beautifully decorated with antique treasures. View of the ocean is stunning.

Our host called earlier in the day to confirm our arrival and review check in procedures during hours and after. When we arrived we were offered a free upgrade as availability allowed and our host gave us a tour of the home and dining options. Our room was cozy and comfortable. This property has a beautiful sitting area surrounded by windows… a lovely spot. Our host was welcoming and warm and was happy to chat and answer our questions. A lovely place to stay while in Dildo.

Really hospitable service, the rooms are quaint and whimsical. Walking distance to all of the best things in town, the building is easily accessible and very comfortable. Nice beds and plenty of blankets. The rooms are decorated with plenty of small touches that make it feel like staying with family. Overall it’s very clean and tidy with a warm atmosphere. Don’t go in expecting a chic metropolitan environment. It is more of a plush, vet quiet country retreat. Simple bliss.

I checked in late as I was photographing a new wedding in the area. Upon arriving, the small parking lot was full, leaving me with no where to park my car without blocking another guest. I found my key in the mailbox and made my way to my room, which was clean, but small and very hot. Although it was in the listing, the room did not have a private bathroom but rather a bathroom across the hall. As I had just left a wedding with thousands of dollars worth of equipment, leaving my things in my room with nothing more than a door knob lock so I could to shower did not feel adequate, especially given the $170 cost. I ended up leaving and taking my chances with driving on the highway at midnight back to St. John’s.
