The proximity to everything in south beach is walkable, the restaurant in the hotel has great food with decent prices and the staff was pretty friendly in the hotel and restaurant. The room was small, and thats putting it lightly, literally had to close the closet door to open the bathroom door, no space for toiletries in the bathroom, hot water took forever to heat up in the shower. Room was on the corner of 7th and Beach, so it was very loud, inwas on the 3rd floor and the elevator broke down my 2nd of 8 days so it was ridiculous taking bags down for checkout. If you are just looking for a bed to sleep on, this is a great location, restaurant and price, but if you plan on spending any time in the room, especially during the rainy season, i would look elsewhere.

Upon getting into our room, it smelled of raw sewage and urine requested a refund. Staff refused as we did not want to stay there not even in a different room.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. Front desk folk - no hello, no greeting not a crack of a smile. Ever. They are behind a glass and make no effort for you to hear them - knowing there is a bar and dining area in the same space. At check -in they ran my credit card and my friend’s with an annoyed “insufficient funds” response. Impossible, since we were both using credit cards. I phoned my company and they denied any transaction was sent their way so they couldn’t have declined anything. This is after the front desk gal took our full ID information and credit card details. Made us feel like something shady was happening. In the room, the best thing is that the AC worked well. The phone was non-functional and they could not tell us why or when it could be fixed. The tv picture wouldn’t show only sound. Had to call someone and they came right away to fix it. Beds were fine, not comfortable and not uncomfortable. Room is aged for it’s time as expected but doesn’t mean some upgrades can’t be made like furniture and fixtures. But again, the location is prime. We asked about the 2 breakfasts per room service but were given a flat NO. Not sure how other guests managed that. Elevator is old and you have to figure it out on your own because no one will bother to explain. Rate was great for the location.

It’s a crappy hotel in a good location. You have to walk through restaurant to enter the “hotel.” Rooms are dated, not very clean. If you’re on a budget only reason to stay

Great location, beach right across the street from the hotel. Lively neighborhood, restaurants and shops. Old hotel, small rooms, small bathroom, not sound proof, you can hear music outside, peoples coming and going in hallways and thru the stairs landing door that bangs very loudly. Elevator was out of service, which is a good thing in my case since it was next to our room and I can only imagine how much noise an old elevator would make. I wanted to cancel my booking approx 2 hours after I checked-in, they would let me without a penalty. I decided to take the hit the next morning since I barely slept with all the noise. Left me overall disapointed.

It would've been nice if we were told the kitchen was going to close at a certain time when we checked in. Had to go get food and got caught in the rain soak and wet. If you have a lot of luggage it is a pain getting it up the steps from outside. Not much room to maneuver once you're inside. So i booked my own room separate from my friend because i needed to catch up on sleep before our 7 day cruise. I wasn't able to do that due to the noise from the staff and the smell. In the middle of night it smelled like dirty bleach water and I'm assuming the door next to me was the trash door as they kept going out of the door slamming it. I wasn't able to get any sleep as I'm a light sleeper. So i basically wasted money for nothing. The room itself was clean and decent however the partial ocean view was a joke. Couldn't see out of the windows due to some white tint and the other one was really dirty. They also charge a daily resort fee which is unnecessary to me.
