Housekeeping was spotty. Times were varied and a couple days we did not get service. When they did our room it was very good. Mike and Nicole were fabulous as bartenders. Wednesday night February 5th, we got our bill and the gal whose name I don't recall was fabulous. Overall a good experience.

The gentleman at the front desk when checking in did not greet us. He sarcastically stated when asked if we had a view he stated “you have no view” like he took pleasure. Did I say no one offered to carry our luggage to the room. My mom is in her 70’s. Floor was dirty. We walked barefoot and out feet were black. We asked for a bottle of water for our trolley trip and the guy said “ we are out, if you need water that bad you can purchase in Morrisons. I felt like a second class citizen. I stayed there last year but this year was worse w staff.

Overall, we had a good visit to Key West and stay at the Casa Marina. There were a few things, such as attitudes among staff, that were not always the kindest, and we felt like we were bothering them by asking the simplest questions, with the exception of the bartenders in the Canary Room. In addition, the $100 per day incidentals charge was rather confusing and the check-in staff did a terrible job of explaining it, and there was no disclosure regarding this charge anywhere to be found. It was not an issue, but a heads up would have been nice.

Not worth the money!
We came from another resort on a different Key and were excited about our stay. At first look, the lobby looked nice however, they changed our room to the first floor and called it an upgrade even though it was available when we booked and we chose an upper suite. The room was beaten and looked dirty. Decor outdated. Sand never groomed and lounge chairs still had previous nights dirty towels on and were strewn about. We had to call Hotels.com to cancel the remainder of our time there and they were great. We then rebooked and went back tothe previous Resort, on another key, and have a fabulous time!

The extremely over-priced room was tired and dilapidated, the hall carpeting was reminiscent of a Holiday Inn and not an upscale resort, the staff was less than accommodating, and our room overlooked the tops of the A/C units for the resort. We had a ceiling fan in the room that the staff tried to fix on our first night but gave up after 15 minutes. We were promised to have a new fan installed the next day. Even after inquiring about the status of this repair, nothing was ever done. Since Key West is so hot and humid, it was imperative to have an operational ceiling fan. Due to this fan remaining broken, we did not sleep well for our entire stay. The staff upon check-out was lackluster in their apologies and only offered us the credit for the resort fee. We did not feel heard or cared for by the staff.

The first morning I woke up to them chainsawing at 7am. The next two mornings I woke up to them trimming trees right outside my balcony and coconuts slamming down on the concrete and busting open. They have a big front end loader machine that just kept going back and forth and back and forth across the beach. So if you want some beach time you’ll have to share it with a big noisy machine. Then they decided to do construction in one of the rooms above us and apparently needed to cut a lot of wood because all I could hear for a while was them running a saw. If you order delivery the hotel won’t let the delivery person bring it to your room. You have to hike it all the way to the other end of the property to get it and then hike it all the way back to your room.

Absolutely loved this place. Historic, newly renovated, close enough to tourist attractions without being right in the action. My only regret was not staying another day or two to enjoy the private beach! Very large room, beautiful bathroom with wonderful rainfall showerhead.

Our stay was amazing. The staff made the experience so special. Jhon Romero went out of his way to ensure the service was 5 stars!!!! Rooms are beautiful and the outdoor spaces were done so perfectly to have a fun night and a relaxing morning sipping my coffee. We will be back to stay here again!!!
