Overall disappointed
First impression of the house- clean and perfect size for our group of 13 adults. I will start by saying we rent from the Bears Den every year because we love the neighborhood but unfortunately this year didn’t go as planned. I’m only writing this so guests are aware and hopefully the management company can do better.
Check in- very confusing because they don’t give an address of the house (like previous years) and no contact number so we had to message through the app when we couldn’t find the management companies office (even the security gate didn’t know). 45 minutes later we finally checked in and received the address. My advise get a contact number!
Pool- before renting we ask if the pool and spa was heated. We were told “yes it’s complimentary pool 84 and spa 102” well 3 1/2 days of 6 night stay we had a freezing cold pool and spa. They would send someone over and say it was working “it takes time to heat up” we actually bought a pool thermometer because the management company insisted it was up to temperature but clearly it wasn’t @74 degrees. By the 4th day we finally were able to enjoy the pool and spa.
Another issue which we found annoying because it wasn’t explained. Doors to pool can’t be left open or an alarm will sound. You have to press a button to get out and back in with 10-15 seconds to shut the door before alarm will sound. We asked if we could disconnect the alarm because we didn’t have any kids with us we were told no it’s a law. So I just think this needs to be explained. There is NO fresh air downstairs because no windows and doors can’t be left open so just something to be aware of.
Some other issues that needed to be addressed but never got fixed-
No working outlets upstairs in the bathrooms.
Ceiling fans are all connected so when one bedroom would turn on a light everyone’s would turn on…this was very interesting (annoying) at 1 am! They did come to address it but only fixed 2 rooms and they were there for a hour!
-No wifi worked in the whole house. My daughter had to go to Starbucks to work everyday. came to fix it on the second to last day but we told them to forget it.
We did reach out to management company once we arrived home but felt like it was a bunch of excuses. We also reached out to the owner of the home to make sure they were aware but didn’t get any response! We had a much better experience previous years when we dealt with the owner not a management company!
