The evening receptionist when we first got there was so unprofessional- there is no words. She was trying to tell me I was there earlier. Challenged me on my room. My reservation. And even my name. Then she panicked because she thought she gave my room away. I had just driven six hours so this made me feel super uneasy and annoyed. She told me to sit down and have a coffee in the rudest way possible while she said out loud - everything is happening to me tonight. So unprofessional to show the client who is tired in a foreign city that amount of stress from her. She raised her voice and was very condescending- telling me to calm down and I shouldn’t be rude. I was ready to leave but I was there for my daughter’s cheer competition and all hotels were booked. Then she realized there was no issue. if she had just taken the time to check my name this whole situation could have been avoided. Then finally we went to our room thats twenty three degrees wet, humide. The drapery does not close properly so there is no sleeping in. The hotel looks nice on picture but it’s like they were taken with a filter. The actual hotel is just not updated on look or parts. Our windows were sweating. The insulation is poor. The continental buffet is not very good. Cream cheese on toast not even a bagel, The bagged muffins that are full of sugar. Sugar cereals. Green bananas. Then all the dirty dishes just all get left in a sink. So unsanitary.

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Liked having a refrigerator in room and access to the microwave in the breakfast area. For once a bathroom the had enough towels from the start and an exhaust fan that actually worked! Only downfall, in my kids view, was the pool was not open as the heater was not working properly.

Bon séjour

Nous avons séjourné 3 nuits à cet hôtel. Ce n’est pas la première fois, nous y sommes allés il y a 2-3 ans. Nous avons choisi la chambre classique, c’était confortable mais j’aurai aimé pouvoir y prendre un bain car je ne pouvais pas prendre de douche suite à une chirurgie. Le bain trop petit et pas de bouchon disponible. J’aurai aussi aimé qu’il y ait plus que deux serviettes disponibles pour nos 3 nuits comme dans certains hotels. Le déjeuner continental était bien. Cependant une recommandation ici: Les produits laitiers doivent rester réfrigérer. Je n’ai pas pu profiter de la piscine ni du gym étant donné mon opération mais une autre fois. J’ai apprécié le café chaud disponible à la réception aussi.

The receptionist was helpful with our check-in and questions as it was our first time at both this hotel and Quebec City. What made a difference was being allowed to park my car in their parking lot before my check-in. I liked how cozy my room was set up for my friend and myself - comfy beds with fluffy pillows, citrus scented soap and lotion, and a tv with various channels. Having free breakfast the next morning was enjoyable too. I would recommend adding a door mat and boot tray near hotel room's door during winter so cleanliness can be maintained. Overall, it was a pleasant stay for one night. Thank you Hotel Du Nord!
