Disappointing and Underwhelming for the Price
This was our second stay at Inn at the Falls, having visited last August as well. We arrived around 1:45 pm and decided to check if our room was ready, even though check-in is at 3 pm. The front desk said it wasn’t, which was understandable. While checking out where the room was located, I noticed two men leaving it late with beer cans scattered and an awful smell inside. The hallway was full of dust bunnies. This made me worry about how clean our room would be. I even asked the front desk if there was another room available, but the inn was fully booked. Shortly after leaving, I received a text that our room was ready. We were concerned that cleaning might have been rushed. Unfortunately, my fears were justified. The room still had a bad odor masked by strong air freshener. The bedding had mostly been changed, but the same blankets I saw earlier were just folded in the closet. The provided toiletries were minimal—tiny shower gel and shampoo-conditioner. Towels were clean, but overall, the room felt poorly maintained. The inn has a no-smoking policy on balconies, yet guests smoked just steps away, making it impossible to enjoy the balcony. For the price, we expected better. The inn’s charm and location couldn’t make up for the cleanliness issues and disregard for non-smoking rules. We won’t be returning for a third stay.

This property is in fact two old houses which have been split into 15-20 rooms. Most facilities are old, like the heating system and vanities. From my view, this property is not worth what I spent for a night.

Pleasant stay near the falls
Lovely hotel in old Victorian home…lots of charm. We stayed in the hotel part built in the 1940’s. Recently renovated…nothing fancy…but clean and adequate. Nice patio area with water views of the river. The on-site Italian restaurant was really good. Would stay here again.

We were able to walk downtown from the hotel, allowing us to shop or go to a bar in the evening. We were also able ot leave our car in the parking lot after we checked out, giving us more time to browse the downtown shops.

Jane at Reception was lovely and helpful, as was Chris who showed me to my room. The room was small but comfortable. The only downside was the baseboards in the washroom were discoloured from moisture and should be replaced.

Great location. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Nice view. Property is tired and in need of TLC. Restaurant food and service were satisfactory but the outdoor patio was neglected and overgrown with weeds. Only minor issues. Good value for price.
