I stayed at the Canmore coast hotel many times prior. My last stay in September I was upgraded to a room with a steam shower and soaker tub even so the hotel was very busy. This time I was able to park right by the front entrance because the hotel was not very busy. I asked for an upgrade but was told it would be $20 dollars extra for a room with a "view". I declined and received a room on the ground level. Expedia pictures showed walk in shower and recently updated room. Mine was old and had a tub/ shower combo that looked 20 years old. The room was smelly and I asked politely to change rooms. The front desk person went to check my room for the smell and came back and told me it's $20 to upgrade. I told him I wasn't going to pay more money and he finally gave me the other room complementary. It felt like I was taking $20 out of his pocket. I am very disappointed with the coast Canmore hotel as well as with Expedia for showing pictures of the rooms that are not based on facts and the Gold VIP status that doesn't mean anything.

I pre-booked the room and paid for it, but when i checked in they said they gave to room to someone else and no other rooms are available so we had to stay in a room that was for accessible people. The room was very small and didnt had a microwave.
