This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had anywhere in the world. They checked me into a tiny, smelly room that only a heroin junkie could fall asleep in. And I’m not exaggerating. My headboard was against the wall that housed the elevator motor. It is hard to imagine that a hotel would have a room like that. I asked to change rooms and they said they were sold out. By midnight I couldn’t take it anymore so I booked a room at the Hilton online. I went to the front desk and asked for a refund and suddenly they said they actually did have a room. They wouldn’t give me a refund because they were offering a quiet room for me. I checked the room and it smelled like a chain smokers car. I had already paid the Hilton and my room was non-refundable so I just left. To add insult to injury I woke up and the hotel had charged an extra $2.32 fee to my credit card. I still don’t know what it was for. I urge everyone not to stay there.

I would stay here again
. My room was perfect. It was ideal for solo or a couple traveling. It was right in the heart of Little Italy which was spectacular. It is near the airport and Waterfront Park. I did a lot of walking, but in reasonable distance to the places I went to.

The room was smaller than expected but I loved it. The location was perfect, pretty and lots of fun. I got to enjoy the Farmers Market, highly recommend. The staff was very friendly, it was very cozy! I’ll be back for sure

The hotel is a great budget option in the lively Little Italy neighborhood. The hotel won't wow you with amenities, but it's clean and comfortable and has great staff. We walked to Balboa Park and the zoo and the waterfront and used the nearby trolley to get to places further afield.

Great location, but needs a little bit of love
One of the main things the Urban Boutique hotel in San Diego has going for it is its location. It’s within a few steps of the palazzo in Little Italy, which is great. There are plenty of wonderful restaurants and shopping just outside the hotel doors. However, the hotel lacks in amenities, cleanliness, and overall accommodations. The rooms are dreadfully small and are highly beat up. My particular room had a musty smell, and its bathroom was a little gross. The room was also dark, cramped and faced directly into the side of a flat building. It was a tad depressing. They could use better lighting, some artwork and plugs for charging phones best the beds. Hopefully the property will continue to evolve, as it has potential.

Great little place with awesome staff
We were in town for a concert at Petco Park so we were looking for something nearby that didn't break the bank either. We absolutely loved our quick stay at the hotel. The front desk staff made our stay! They were funny and helpful. Our room was very small but perfect for us. A comfy bed, clean, and even a fridge. The surrounding area has all kinds of restaurants and things to do.

I stayed here before that’s why I booked it again because I loved it,,,,but this time the room they gave me has this horrible metal box under making a loud sound every time I went to the bathroom, the phone didn’t work it was detached, also I bought a camera detector from Amazon for safety and the internet box in our room made a loud noise every time I placed it nearby I tried it in my daughters room to see if maybe that box included a sensor and it didn’t sound I hope I’m wrong, I know this is a delicate situation but owners need to be aware of employees room 407 the bathroom wasn’t clean properly either, the LOCATION is a 10/10 next to everything coffee shop, restaurants is the best location I need to honest everything is within walkable limits

Very pretty and clean hotel. Only issue was the TV was very complicated to initiate and use. And a more comfortable chair would be better. Otherwise very interesting and convenient stay. Only problem with a man approaching my sister and I At entrance late at night a little scary.

i chose this hotel because of the great reviews it had! when i enter the room it was bit small but okay. The room had a musky smell and the rooms air conditioning unit didn't work very well. it kept shutting off and sometimes it would be to cold and sometime when it got to the set temperature it became very humid in the room. we had a very hard time sleeping at night, i mention it to the staff and the beginning and the last day of my stay but staff didn't do nothing to changed the situation. my stay was for 5 days. location was great but i wouldn't recommend this hotel. also had to ask for towels almost every day because they only clean rooms every other day

Centrally located in super cute Little Italy. Clean room, comfy bed, great AC and friendly, helpful staff. The room is pretty basic- small shower- no tub. The offsite parking isn’t ideal. It’s great as a home base for your San Diego adventure.
