Location is great, easy to walk along the river. Room was nice, large, clean.
Breakfast: poorly laid out buffet style, everyone was trying to cram into one corner where the hot food was. Should be laid out better for a smooth flow. Secondly, train buffet staff on FIFO (first in, first out) NOT to dump the new fresh product ON TOP of the eggs/sausage/hashbrowns in the bins. I grabbed a couple hashbrown triangles that were so hard, they must have been there for hours. I watched buffet staff dump the fresh food on top of the old food over and over.
3rd. Not sure if the cleaning staff was overwhelmed by the long weekend or what happened. We were there for 3 nights. 1st night the room we arrived to a clean room with towels stocked for 2 people. 2nd night, room was cleaned, NO towels, zero. 3rd night: we were gone all day, 9 hours. Arrived back at 5:30pm, room not touched. Zero cleaning. 5:45 there was a knock from the cleaner asking if we wanted anything… He handed us a stack of towels, took the garbage and left. For $300 per night in a small town, I expected better service. While not a bad experience, it feels like staff didn’t make a lot of effort toward customer service. Maybe everyone was a new hire?
