Absolutely love The Voy! The staff are alway friendly, the rooms are clean and cute, the beds are soft and comfortable, there is also a nice restaurant as well as a gas and convenience store. Making it our number one place to stay when travelling west!

We booked a room at the Voy (Main Branch), which is our usual motel while travelling between Winnipeg and Muskoka, because it is the only accommodation in the area that allows pets. We found out while we were en route to Schreiber that we were being moved to the Norwest branch because the Main Branch had a problem with their hot water equipment. That's the advantage of dealing with a motel that has 3 branches. Normally pets are not allowed in the Norwest branch, but management made an exception in this case. The room was large and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Our only complaint is that the fridge was so cold that all of our food and drinks were frozen overnight, but this is a minor glitch that can be easily rectified. The Norwest branch is very good value, and if it allowed pets, we would stay here all the time during our stop-overs in Schreiber.

We showed up with our confirmation for the room which we wanted something right off highway. (We are seniors and were tired). We were then told to go to another motel just up the road and in behind a dilapidated building with a broken down vehicle. So first impression not great!! Then we entered and the place was clean but electrical wiring must date back to 60's. There were extension cords running everywhere. No receptical at all in bathroom, no hooks for hanging towels. You had to place your towel or anything else on the toilet or in the sink. Windows are so old and they are double glass, they rattled so bad we had to leave TV on to drown out noise. I feel like we are falling short in reviewing and something should be done to not allow these unsafe buildings to be rented (electrical). We would have left but as I said we are seniors and needed to rest before traveling further.
