Honestly everything was pretty great. Location was good for what we were doing and it didn't feel like it was too sketchy to go out. Great access to restaurants and the cable car line! Our only real complaint is that the toilet in our room was horrible and we had to flush it 3+ times just to get toilet paper to go down, let alone anything else.

Modest accommodations at a reasonable price.
Great location and good value. Rooms with king size beds face the street and do not have air conditioning (this was not mentioned on hotels.com). Lobby is modern and spacious. Front desk was helpful and considerate. Overall, hotel is very old and has been nominally updated. My room's bed was very comfortable but the bathroom was small and had a frosted glass door which was not ideal for privacy. Check out the cozy mezzanine level.

Great choice for a smaller budget
Very good choice for the price we paid. Our room was in the back without view, but it was surprisingly quiet for SF. The room and bathroom were really clean.

The property overall has architectural beauty. Close to high end shopping . Close to the start of the trolley cable car . The room was clean but on the small side but well laid out . It was overall a nice place and I’d stay there again. Union square area felt a little unsafe . We did not wonder about after dark .

A centrally located hotel with close access to the BART Metro system from / to the airport. Chinatown and the Central Business district is a 5 to 10 minute walk. The beds are clean and comfy. There is also a coffee machine in the room. The bathrooms are clean but small. There is no in room safe to put your valuables in. The staff are very friendly, helpful and professional.

Bed, furnishings, and bathroom clean and in good shape. Old hotel in Union Square area that had air conditioner and I did not hear loud police or fire truck sirens which is a problem in the area. Heater in room was OK but wondered if it is enough in winter.

Don’t let the exterior fool you. When stepping into this hotel, you’re immediately greeted by welcoming staff and a tastefully decorated interior. The hallways of the hotel portray a look of the past fitting in well the ambiance of San Francisco. The rooms are small but modern, clean and very comfortable. The immediate area is full of shopping and dining options. The Powell St. BART station and cable car line are in walking distance which is very convenient for all your transportation needs. A 35 minute BART ride from SFO airport. I enjoyed my stay here and will definitely stay here again on a return visit.
