The Lagoon Suite at The Estuary Inn

Welcome to a nature-lovers paradise, in central Vancouver Island in Nanoose Bay (13km north of Nanaimo). This vacation suite is surrounded by 100 acres of protected bird sanctuary/estuary lands.
With numerous beaches, nature trails and local attractions you can keep as busy exploring as you'd like, although we suspect you'll choose to spend your time enjoying the properties amenities, peace and quiet and bird watching/star gazing from your private deck (and outdoor tub)!

What a rare find. The Inn is located in a secure and quiet estuary, and it’s not to be missed. We were surrounded by nature in a wonderfully decorated suite. We saw eagles, bats, beavers and so many birds… Harold is a wonderful host. Can’t wait to go back!

We spent 2 nights in the Lagoon Suite. It was lovely! The bed was very comfortable, and the suite had all the basic necessities. The outdoor was very relaxing. It was enjoyable to watch all the birds on the patio, and the beavers in the evening. The host Harold was very welcoming, and wished us well on our departure. We would certainly recommend this place to others!

Beautiful getaway
This was located in a beautiful peaceful area- we loved the nature and the variety of birds we saw outside the windows. It was close to a lot of trails and forested areas. Harold was an amazing host - very helpful and friendly. You can immediately tell the pride he has in his inn and had lots of tips to enjoy the area. The suite was very comfortable and well laid out. We would definitely recommend anyone to visit for a great peaceful getaway. We will be back for sure when we come out to the island!

We love coming back to the Lagoon Suite at the Inn on the Estuary. Harold always greets us with an update on the birds and wildlife in the area. The lovely gift for guests was a beautifully painted mandala stone which I will use at my desk at home. The purple beautyberries were a spectacular sight in the fall foliage.

The “Wow”factor
From the moment of arrival right through to when we finally had to leave this property we enjoyed every moment… we will return and recommend for sure…! The views offered at the estuary made you say wow every time you stopped to look out the window or even more when enjoying the deck area or the private tub on our patio. Breathtaking and serene and relaxing all rolled into one. The host has appointed the suite and design things remarkably well… Tiny little amenities that you wouldn’t even think of to the basics were done very well and with design in mind. We were not left wanting for anything. Our interactions with the host were extremely pleasant, informative and just pleasant conversation… As mentioned, we will be back!

Excellent location. Very central and easy to get to Parksville, Qualicum and Nanaimo close by. Beautiful property and meticulously maintained. Property owners live on site and are super sweet and helpful. Unit was immaculate and well kept. They thought of every detail and well supplied. Laundry on site. Great spot. Highly recommended.

Always a wonderful stay
We were really looking forward to our stay having had to cancel several times in the last three years of the pandemic. The Lagoon suite is so well set up and we enjoyed sitting looking out at the estuary with its birds and the little beaver family. Harold provided a friendly greeting and showed us everything as well as checking with us that all had been well as we left. We look forward to a return visit.

Spectacular Wildlife Santuary
My wife and I spent 2 outstanding days at the Lagoon Suite at the Inn the Estuary in Nanoose Bay on Vancouver Island, B.C. The self contained suite,with all of the amenities of a 5 star hotel, was absolutely spectacular with floor to ceiling panoramic views of the wildlife estuary lagoon. Awesome hosts, great stay and we definitely will be back!

Renting this property was a positive and pleasant experience from start to finish. Angela was very responsive and answered all of our questions ahead of time, and Harold (the property owner/manager on site) was very friendly, incredibly helpful and just a pleasure to visit with whenever we ran into him. These folks have thought of everything and designed both the suites and the property with their guests’ relaxation and privacy in mind. Every small detail is looked after, and the property is absolutely immaculate (both inside the suite, as well as the property itself). We will be back and will recommend to everyone we know. We stayed September for a two night stopover while travelling to see family & wished we had booked longer. The property was spotless, we could find no fault with the cleanliness & condition of the property & everything you need is provided. It was so serene having the private view of the estuary from the window & balcony plus the amazing scenic landscaped entrance with fountains, where you can also sit & enjoy the tranquil atmosphere. We walked round the estuary & trail, found hidden seating & watched the wildlife. Delicious eating options in the area, we went to the Rocking Horse pub both days & the food was exceptional & delicious. We are from a small island with zero noise pollution so did notice some road noise but it was not excessive. There are two other suites but we heard no noise & we were also secluded. Owner was very friendly helpful, informative & enjoyed our chats.
