We weren't sure what to expect, but coming to Whitehorse for a week we really wanted access to a fridge and kitchen. The reviews were great (they were not so good for the hotels) and since we had a few questions, we called the owner. We got an immediate response! Friendly and professional, he answered all questions and welcomed us to his house.
We were not disappointed!
The house is clean, our bed was comfortable, so was the couch, the deck is nice, we even had access to the laundry. It is in a quiet neighborhood. Cable doesn't work a lot of the time, but Wi-Fi does. Any questions, the owner is immediately available. Cheryl, the housekeeper, is a total character! Loved talking to her and enjoyed meeting people from all over the world. This is not something you generally get to experience staying in a hotel.
Tips: Enjoy the coffee, tea, cereals, milk, bread, butter, jam, peanut butter and spices available for all guests.
If you have personal items for the fridge, bag and label them.
Don't bother buying ketchup, mustard, mayo, everybody leaves some behind for all to share.
Same goes for shampoo & conditioner.
Be open to meeting people, you will have fun!
Give and take as you wish, but leave the house 5% better than you found it.
Go for the 5km walk around the Millennium Trail, easily accessible from the house (turn left and keep walking). It's wonderful!
Eat once at Klondike Rib & Salmon Restaurant and get your german bread and cookies at Alpine Bakery,
Enjoy!
