Cozy Log Cabin in Pristine Nature

Morning Star Log Cabin is located just a five-minute drive outside downtown Nelson. An intimate and rustic cabin awaits overlooking Kootenay Lake. Outdoor enthusiasts, active families, and loving partners all fit the criteria for our ideal guests. Roast marshmallows over a fire, make snowmen, play in the leaves, grill on the BBQ... you have the freedom to recharge however you see fit.

Morning Star accommodates up to 4 to 5 guests with one queen bed, a double futon in the living room and a double bed in the loft. The fully stocked kitchen is equipped with everything you need down to the smallest detail, like fresh coffee beans from the local cafe Oso Negro (meaning "black bear" in Spanish). Use the pots, pans, microwave, stove or oven for full meals, hearty treats, and warm beverages. The private one-bedroom is artistically decorated and offers plenty of closet space and even a washer/dryer for your convenience.

Great View and Access to Downtown/Whitewater
The property was great. Awesome view of the Kootenay River and Nelson. The host was very nice, and we had several interactions with her. My only small complaint is the way that the rates are advertised. The place sleeps 4, but they rate is for 2 people. You will be charged an extra $30 per night per person extra. Also, you will be charged $25 if you do not wash and put away any dishes. It is these sorts of hidden fees with VRBO that annoy me compared to a hotel.

Quiet lake view cabin
This well equipped cabin although located on a mountain side with bunkies and.other houses is situated to be completely private. We enjoyed the beautiful views from 2 outside decks, song birds and a large green space to roam. Maria, the host, was only a phone call away but after greeting us left us to enjoy this tranquil beauty. Nelson is only a short drive and if you also bring your dog there is a great off leash walk and swim area for pets along Kootenay lake in downtown Nelson. We loved it all

Perfect Weekend Getaway
Morning Star is a cozy log cabin with modern amenities and a high standard of decor and cleanliness. It’s in a semi-rural residential area, only 5 minutes drive from the centre of Nelson. Maria is an excellent host. Her emails were informative and she met us on arrival, offering helpful suggestions on local attractions and activities. Nelson is a beautiful city with lots to do and great places to eat. We would definitely stay here again!

Great little hideaway
Perfect vacation stay for our family . The loft allowed our 13 year old boy to have his privacy and gave our 11 year old girl a place of her own on the futon. Well equipped with everything you need to make simple meals. The porch is perfect to enjoy your morning coffee. Was looking forward to a campfire but the weather altered our plans. The weather hampered a number of our hiking plans consequently we ended up hanging out at the cabin more than we normally would have wanted too but it was cozy and comfortable. Thank you Maria for great excursion ideas, as well as for sharing the picture of the mother and baby deer that wondered the property. A real treat.
