I like the charm of a small hotel with history. I didn’t like the tight parking space but understand it’s downtown area. The room we were assigned to was noisy, the loud music from the meeting room downstairs lasted till 10.30pm. We planned to sleep early at 9.30pm but couldn’t fall sleep even with the help of ear plugs.

The room was fabulous , the front desk staff were friendly , curious and helpful … I would give 5 stars , the only reason I did not was because of the desk manager - her name was Sierra , she was curt , short and rude ! I asked about possibly staying another night , which was fine but for a different rate , I had said in the morning ok well I would let her know within the hour .. and I did call back and say that our plans had changed and we wouldn’t need the room for a third night … she said ok , I thanked her and said I just wanted to let you know as soon as possible so not to hold the room - she chuckled and said yes well it’s a good thing as if you waited any longer we would have charged you regardless … very rude and unprofessional as I had told her I would let her know if we needed the room or not within the hour and I called back less than half hour later … Everything else about the hotel , staff , breakfast and room was fabulous … maybe she was having a bad morning … however , she was plain rude and not pleasant at all ..

This hotel is in an excellent location. Right by the lakefront and in the thick of the restaurants. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. The furnishings and the bathroom fixtures are on the chintzy side but everything works. The included breakfast was very good and had the best selection of fresh fruit of our 20 day road trip.
