Summer family weekend
Great property for adults. Lovely Beach is 10 minute walk away for adults and a frisbee golf site. Great dishwasher, fridge, dishes, coffeemaker, no mixer, a great barbeque etc.. The house can use a new kitchen tap, a variety of complete fun games, and a different variety of videos. If you have children bring a wagon or drive to the beach! The garage is not childproof, although it has some water toys for children and two wiener sticks. You will find linens in the linen closet behind the master bathroom door!! Instructions were to find linens would have been very welcome. Due to a broken mattress, it sleeps 8 not nine. Unless you bring your own 9th mattress or cot.

Great family vacation
We spent 8 night here. It was great. The walk thru the trees to the beach is only about 7 min. It’s scenic and shaded. For those of you who like some exercise continue from the beach to the marina and you will discover a fitness area half way. Great place for a workout. Host was very response and accommodating. Highly recommend

Not Great But Did The Job
The property itself isn't bad. The rooms were tidy and as advertised. The hose was broken and there was only one outlet outside that worked which was a bit frustrating as I had specifically written to Colin asking about bringing our trailers out there. Communication with Colin wasn't my favourite. He generally didn't seem to know much about the property - like where outlets were and why they wouldn't be working. He sent a bit of a rude message to us halfway through accusing us of having people sleeping in vehicles outside of the property (like - what?!) and chose to tell us at that time that vehicles weren't allowed to be parked on the road (our boat was on the road as there were no slips available at the whole lake). We had NO IDEA that no parking on the road was in the bylaws - in fact, Colin didn't make us aware of any rules or bylaws, even though we had animals etc. Basically, communication was just really lacking. The property has no trees and is basically a field next to a field. Overall, the cabin did what we needed it to do. Oh! The walk to the water - haha. Not 5-10 minutes! I am a fit 35 year old woman and it took me at least 14 minutes, not carrying anything and alone with no children. We drove every day.

Money grab and no privacy - amazing
We were very grateful to book the cabin on very short notice as our reservations elsewhere were cancelled at the last minute due to flooding in the area. We went to great lengths prior to booking to ensure the landlord was fully aware that the rental was to accommodate a family reunion that we estimated could be 21 people (18 adults, 2 elementary aged children, 1 newborn). The landlord advised that the property manager hadn't been in yet to set up for the season and that the lawn might be long. He also advised that patio furniture bought for the property was unassembled and in boxes in the garage. He said that if we wanted and brought tools, we could do the assembly and also cut the grass. As per the landlord's request, our group of 18 stayed outside the cabin for the bulk of the time. Also, as per our arrangement, 4 adults and 3 children slept in the cabin and we had 1 pull behind trailer and 1 tent on the property with other folks staying elsewhere around the lake. After our departure, the landlord changed our credit card an additional $250 for restocking of the toilet paper, paper towels, soap and garbage bags that he said we 'stole'. We thought this was ridiculous and insulting and above and beyond the day rate specified, hostess fees, cleaning fee, pet fee and service fee that were paid as part of the cost for the 3 day rental. The products supplied by the landlord / property manager were minimal. Without so much as a discussion, the landlord charged our credit card $250 to refurnish the necessities that weren't sufficiently provided in the first place. He also failed to say thanks for mowing his grass or for us assembling the 6 patio chairs and table.

Not advisable
When we checked in the kitchen smelled of dog pee and cigarette smoke and the kitchen floor was very sticky. When I wiped the floor I noticed the oven had likely never been pulled out and most of the kitchen cupboards were unclean. There wasn’t adequate bedding and the master bed was unmade which wouldn’t have been a big deal but the only sheet available for us was stained. The second bed didn’t have a comforter available. The towels had been put in the cupboard extremely wet and the tub in the ensuite hadn’t been cleaned. The bbq didn’t work and was out of propane and there wasn’t a brush to clean the grill which was caked with food and grease. Property owner didn’t believe us and sent pictures that the cleaner sent him and I was told I was picky. Wouldn’t recommend.

Relaxing getaway
Our family had a lovely stay in this beautiful, clean and well equipped cabin. Fully stocked kitchen was appreciated and great meals were prepared! It's very quiet and peaceful with loads of nature all around. Deer were seen almost every evening on or near the property. The beds were confortable (master's is quite firm as we like it) and there were many extra blankets in linen closet. We were disappointed by the fact that they removed the extra sheets though and one child ended up sleeping on a conforter all week. If you are planning on using the 4 extra mattresses, it would be a good idea to let them know in advance I guess... There were a few board games, dvds and video games but none were "family friendly". No more books in the cabin even though it's mentioned in the description. The coffee machine is a Keurig so buy pods but they do provide reusable ones. It's seen better days also so if you are a picky coffee drinker, find alternative. Owner was very quick to respond and seemed to care about our stay. All in all we would definitely stay here again and would recommend this property.

Good location
The property was in a great location, just a short walk through the woods to the beach. The only downfalls were the lack of linens for the beds, there are no blankets for the twin mattress. The inside door handles are mostly all broken, and no wifi .

Canada Day Weekend 2021
My husband, 12- and 8-year-old, Mom, Dad, and Mother-in-Law had a wonderful time. The proximity to the lake was great for our age groups; not too far for the weary child to make it back home after a hot day at the beach, but far enough to get some “steps” in! Colin, the owner, is super easy to talk to and cares about your stay. My only two suggestions would be to add some beach towels, blankets, and sand toys to the property or just suggest to the renter to bring their own, and to add some more deck chairs to the front and back decks. We had to use the kitchen chairs. We had lots of laughs and quality time together, which was amazing after all this COVID craziness! Thank you, Colin!

Great post covid getaway!
We really enjoyed the privacy and location of this property. The two decks were awesome as you could move to suit the temperature. The yard/ lawn was very well kept. The use of the garage was a definite bonus! Easy to unload and load. Overall this property was well supplied. While not directly affecting our stay, there were some maintenance issues needing resolving. In order for us to vaccuum, we needed to thoroughly clean the vacuum and the head. The toilet off the main bedroom either kept running or didn’t fill. After every use you had to ensure flushing occurred or that the water would stop running. Many doorknobs (interior ) are loose and close to falling off. This was our first VRBO experience and we were not disappointed!

Great home, location not what expected
Loved this home, very comfortable and clean, lots of space for all six of us. Not very much to do, especially for little kids. There's a playground at the beach but unfortunately the beach was covered in bird poop so not very clean to spend much time there. Owners were very accommodating and for a retreat or just to get away, this is ideal.

Communication with the owner was good and this is a lovely home in Parkland Beach with lots of space and comfortable beds and . Cupboards are well stocked with dishes. Small and big appliances are good though a regular coffee maker would be nice. Our main trouble was with weak wifi and no cell service. The latter really surprised us, and could be a concern for some. Access to Gull Lake is great on foot and by vehicle. When walking,Take the red path to the right which gives you access behind/through the houses and trees. 10 mins max. We really enjoyed sitting on the front covered deck. Bring your own BBQ lighter as some of the burners need direct lighting.

A pleasant and comfortable vacation home in a convenient location for us.

Great place to book for a family vacation (all ages)
We really enjoyed our long weekend spent at this property. In total, we had two couples & 3 children (under the age of 7) and had plenty of room & beds to sleep in. The kids greatly appreciated all the toys & games, the two decks (with fantastic patio furniture), and large green space to run & play. One thing to consider when booking this property is the distance from the cabin to the summer village beach. With adults, it’s doable using the trails. With littles & all the gear that comes with a beach day, definitely think about taking a vehicle and using the public parking lot. There seemed to be plenty of parking in the morning (on a long weekend) but it got rather busy by noon. Another thing to mention, for the coffee enthusiasts, the property has a Kuerig with reusable pods but not a coffee maker with a pot. Easy to bring one along if you have a large party. All in all, we were very happy & would enjoy staying there again.

Cannot wait to return!!
My family and my brother's family enjoyed this beautiful cabin for four nights.takes minutes to walk to the beach and a 5 minute drive to the public doc to launch a boat. Colin was very accommodating with every aspect of our trip.upon arrival we noticed that the wifi wasn't working,Colin acted promptly and quickly had the issue resolved. I wouldn't have cared if it got resolved at all,but the kids were whining about it lol I highly recommend this property for any family getaway, doesn't take long to drive to the nearest town to pick up forgotten essentials or just to go grab a pizza, great little community and I will be renting again!

Great Family Holiday!!
What a beautiful home!! The location was great, only a 5 minute walk (with small kids) to the beach. The beach was great and had a play park nearby = hours of entertainment. I googled the area and was able to book my kids in swim lessons in the town of Rimbey. Only a 12 minute drive. Beautiful outdoor pool. A 20 minute drive brought us to Sylvan lake where the kids enjoyed the floating water park. Red Deer was 40 minutes away, we enjoyed a beautiful sunny day at the Discovery Canyon lazy river. A perfect summer holiday for a family!

Wonderful Vacation Home
We had our family vacation here the last week of July 2017 and loved it. This vacation home is new, clean and very well setup. The rooms are all very well laid out with a large living room and kitchen and the bedrooms are very comfortable. We had eight people staying here and the two bathrooms were a blessing. There is two very nice decks front and back and a great fire pit. The property was perfect for our grandkids to run freely and good hiking trails nearby. A bit of a hike to the beach but nobody complained. Gull Lake is great for all water activities and fishing and there is a great little par 3 golf course nearby. The owner of this home was very pleasant to deal with and I would recommend people not hesitate to rent it.
