Mexico 2.75 star-level accommodation with 5 star execution. Perfect for my needs. Simple and clean with basic room amenities. I opted for an ocean view with refrigerator turning the room into a nice place to hang out between outings. The included light breakfast at the onsite restaurant brought the necessary coffee and little something for the belly before heading out. The servers were great! All the staff were friendly and welcoming.

I just had my first experience at El Pescador where I stayed one night between coming back from Yelapa and flying home (US - Midwest). I had a pleasant experience. All of the common areas are well kept and the service was some of the best I've received. Room was clean and in totally acceptable condition given the age of the hotel itself. The mattresses are firm. My room was on the second floor overlooking the pool. I noticed no sewage smell at any time during my 22 hour stay. My room was ready despite my arriving at 1:30pm. The FREE breakfast is only juice, coffee, a plate of daily fruit, and bread with butter and jam. The bread was delicious as was the watermelon, and the meal was completely satisfying. If you are expecting a 3 star hotel that is clean with a restaurant and exceptional service, and a nice clean pool, this is a great spot. Malecon is only a few blocks, and there is lots of shopping on the way there. The beach was nice but not Los Muertos nice. I understand the fence as there is some graffiti and those without housing who sleep on the beach, so the fence is necessary for security purposes. If you are turned off by a minor amount of graffiti and homeless presence, then you likely would not be happy here. I would absolutely stay again for a similar trip. What could be improved - I had 3 towels and a bathmat in the bathroom but no hand towel(s) or washclothe(s). A microwave if not in the room, in a common area, would be nice to heat up left overs versus having to

The El Pescador hotel's location just north of the Malecon makes it ideal for walking about, exploring the sights of downtown Puerto Vallarta.

We did not plan to stay here. Our flight got canceled after being in the airport for 10 hrs. Anyway, I had to look for a last minute room to spend the night since I had booked another flight for next day. This place was awesome!!! We checked in around 6 pm. They greeted us with some light breakfast snacks. The hotel is close to a lot of restaurants, the beach, and shopping. We walked over to the malecón in the night. We felt very safe. Highly recommend this hotel. Very clean, staff was friendly, very convenient location. I recommend 10/10 !

Old Room - El Pescador
Not so good as for the quality of the room. Need were clean, lamps were dusty. Old refrigerator smelled. Old mirrors in room. Bathroom door jam was cracked. As the day progresses, the was a stench of sewage coming from the restroom. Complimentary buffets was below average. Coffee was not part of the buffet table and had to be served by waiters. Took forever for coffee. One morning I had finished eating my breakfast, then coffee was served after asking rep that checks guests in fir the breakfast buffet. Only 1 waiter serving 15 tables. Pillows are flat and uncomfortable. Best thing was the ocean view from balcony, but we didn't stay in our room most of the day. Hotel has no parking. We had a small rental and as able to locate parking on the same block. Review is not showing me to share photos.

It has a noce view to the downtown and right in front of the beach, but I didn't enjoy my stay in here because of the room, which was nothing to go crazy about, and the beds are super uncomfortable, felt like I was sleeping on the floor. I booked a bigger room because I was with friends, and the tv was super small. This hotel definately needs a remodelation.
