I cannot get credited for 8 nights here because the hotel has no record of my stay.
Despite what it says on Hotels.com, this hotel requires a 30% payment to reserve a room. The remaining 70% is due 10 days prior to arrival, unless you pay in cash, which we did, after inspecting the room.
All in all, these are minor annoyances. Our stay was nice.
This is a three star hotel that is borderline two star because the owners need to invest in maintenance, but peeling paint, slightly leaky pipes, loose knobs, small stains on sheets, etc. shouldn't distract you from the fact that this hotel is a great value.
Our room was clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Our room, like all rooms, I believe, had an excellent view of the pool and ocean. The beach was spectacular, though the surf tends to be rough.
This hotel is not all inclusive. Nearby hotel are, and their restaurants won't be open to you. Fortunately the hotel restaurant, Casa del Mar, is excellent. We tried other restaurants in the hotel zone, but this was the best!
The menu has a good mix of Mexican and American dishes, healthy enough for my wife, with enough seafood for me. My kids loved their variety of salads, delicious pastas, & many types of pizza (cooked in their wood fired oven). Great, relaxed service! Every seat has an ocean view. Expect to pay 200 pesos (about $10 US) per person per meal without drinks. Only part of the menu is attached.
