The place was amazing. Tropical surroundings, quiet secluded pool, restaurant is on the beach for breakfast, dinner or just to have a drink and watch the fishermen/scuba divers come and go. Property is located on a quiet street. Two blocks from all the restaurants and shops. We stayed a week and our condo was well stocked. The only negative think I have to say is that the bed was to firm for my back. I definitely will return next year with the rest of my family and tell my friends about this condo.

Hotel staff upon arrival was less than friendly. After handing us the keys without stating the room number, “do you know where to go?” Hmm. No. Never been here! He told us nothing about the property, including what the fact that there was no beach due to erosion. Did not see any signs of adjacent dining either. False advertising here- pictures should be updated. Additionally, the gym is located a few blocks away and you need a day pass to access it. Closest public beach is a 10 min walk. You won’t want to spend much time at the hotel but the surrounding area is convenient. Hotel was clean.

We just returned from our stay at El Taj. Prior to our arrival the team were easily contactable via WhatsApp and very helpful. From the moment that we checked in, the staff were so accommodating and friendly. We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom penthouse condos, it was very well equipped (full kitchen, washer etc.). I really liked that they have a water cooler in the condo, and they also brought us ice. The condo has a rooftop terrace, with a big seating area, grill, hot tub and loungers. The complex has a very tropical feel, the pool areas are quite shaded and there is a small beach area with the great Ari restaurant. One of the best things we did was book a 9am massage on the beach, total heaven with the sound of the waves! Prior to our arrival I saw reviews complaining about the fishing boats in front of the beach, and there are boats there but it wasn’t an issue for us. We spent days at beach clubs, everything is very walkable from the location. In the first evening I was a little worried about the noise from the bars on 5th Ave, but we had no issues with noise at the condo. Highly recommend and would stay again!

El Taj Beachside Condo felt like home in paradise!
El Taj Staff was always displaying professionalism, at checkin we felt welcome, everyone we spoke always show care, we had a lost bag that was delivered to the lobby they always kept us informed and responded quickly to any of our questions, in regards to Milton's huracan that was near the area we felt safe at home, the condo was beautiful, clean, and had everything we needed. The views were amazing, everything was well thought of, the location was great, near all the busy restaurants, nightclubs, galleries, but yet quiet and relaxing family environment. We will highly recommend it! I assure you we will come back.

Beautiful place to stay in the heart of the city. Beach and pool area was beautiful. We stayed in a penthouse suite and the rooftop deck was amazing! If I ever come back to Playa Del Carmen, I will stay here again.

My family and I stayed at this place and it was great!! Very spacious and very convenient to walk over to different things ie food or a club or find events with Pedro right outside the door. We had a little hiccup but the staff and manager definitely worked hard on trying to handle that hiccup and went above and beyond. The only feedback for anyone staying here is remember it is a hotel so valuables go in the safe but other than that this place is perfect!! Space, price, convenience, the vive, the people, everything!! (My family and I stayed at Xcaret Arte and Hyatt Ziva so when I say I have others to compare to I definitely do but we all agreed we loved this hotel, its staff and Pedro whim helped us coordinate all of our activities!!). If I could give them a 12/10 I would! Small parking but again amazing place and staff is more than welcoming!

Great property right on the beach. Excellent, uncrowded beach and swimming. Restaurants, bars, clubs, shops, grocery store all within a short walk. Spacious, well equipped apartment and friendly, accommodating staff made me feel right at home. Would definitely recommend to anyone travelling to Playa del Carmen.
