The guy who checked us in asked where we live (coming from), which was ok; however, we found it strange that he also asked where we lived before our current home. With fraud being on the rise and him having access to prof ate information (credit card, home address, my wife’s name), it’s not appropriate to ask more personal questions than necessary. It made us feel uncomfortable and suspicious.

This was a great location to be right on the boulevard, you can park at the mall right next door for $20. This was near so many great things, the Chinese Theatre, Dolby Theatre, Jimmy Kimmel, lots of bus tours, target. We enjoyed the walkability of everything. Be careful if you book through Expedia they will give your hotel room away if you cant get there in time for check in (our flight arrived super late and our king room was given away).

Our reservation was not found in the system for an hour. Furniture and bathroom very old. Room service very irregular, sometimes they don't clean or bring fresh towels. Air conditioning very old and loud. Hidden costs that aren't mentioned anywhere. You have to pay $35 every day for bowling, cinema and fitness even if you don't use it. The lobby is nice. The location is central and good but also noisy at night. Next door is a parking garage where you can park cheaply for $20 a day.

Decided to stay at Loews because of its proximity to the Catalina Jazz Club. It’s also just a block away from Sunset Blvd, if you’re into all that Hollywood stuff. The hotel itself is very clean and the standard rooms are nicely appointed and updated. Bathrooms off the main bar lobby require one’s room’s card key (they’re not open to the general public), which keeps them cleaner. Would recommend this hotel if you’re needing to be in this general vicinity.
