Everything about this property was exactly what I had expected! We unfortunately didn’t stay long so we didn’t get to try out the pub, but the vibe is definitely Inn style and the surrounding area is beautiful and close enough to walk to downtown or take a short taxi ride! Price was decent for the accommodations. The only down side was having to drag our luggage up the stairs. They did offer to help, but we had heavy bags since we had been traveling for 10 days so it just would’ve been a nice convenience. Overall excellent stay! Will stay again!

The hotel is in close proximity to Victoria's bustling harbor and a lovely park. The hotel functions well with restaurant, front desk, etc. The big downsides of this hotel are the terrible bed, dcratchy linens, and drag decor.

I loved the bed first of all (303 rm). Matress and pillows were perfect. The room Its self is nicely done. The gentleman that checked us in was very outgoing. We sat out on one of the communal patios in the evening and just watched people walking home, to dinner or just walking the dog, its a very peaceful neighborhood.

We had such a lovely stay at The James Bay Inn. The hotel is so charming but not as charming as Hedy, the delightful employee who made our stay very memorable! He was very helpful and kind. Our room was comfortable and clean. We enjoyed sitting on the second floor balcony in the morning. Breakfast at the restaurant is delicious and good value. The pub is a fun place to have a drink or snack. We walked very easily to the harbour, parliament, the museum, and downtown from here. It was also an easy walk to the ocean. We can’t wait to return to this delightful gem of a hotel!

Spotless clean. Close to the downtown. Our suite (The Garden Suite) room 215, was huge. It is basically a 1 bedroom apartment with a full kitchen. Definitely worth the price if you plan to stay 5 or 6 days, because you could cook meals there. Only downside is the steep stairs going up to the lobby. (No elevator). We dragged our luggage all the way up only to find out we had to drag it back down as our room was not in the main building. Technically that's our fault as we could have left the luggage in the car during check-in. Anyway, the inn is beautiful, the grounds are well cared for, and the proximity to the waterfront makes it an ideal choice to stay at.

Charming old building, very clean . Wonderful staff. Good restaurant on the first floor with a pub that's as comfortable as neighborhood tavern. Great location, walking distance to most of the sites the tour bus goes to. I picked this place on line for the price, it exceeded my expectations in every way.
