It was advertised online as having a nice lounge, room service ac and a restaraunt and bar. None of that was included. Supremely false adevrtised through a third party website. $400 a night for a room with no ac is bonkers as well as $40 for parking.

Loved the property! Super cute, clean and great for our family of 4. Lots to do in the hotel (pool, billiard room, games room) with an excellent location to the harbour. Would highly recommend and stay there again.

Second year we stayed here. I like this property better than the newer fancy places. It is very clean, but a little dated. The staff are fantastic. Newer doesn’t mean better. We had a full kitchen, which us great with teenagers that are super picky, order more food than they can eat and don’t want to get up early.

A wonderful stay with a great service
I love this Hotel. Although a bit “old-fashioned”, it is always clean and comfortable (a good bed; important to one with a disability). The people are always very friendly and professional. The location, just behind the Government Buildings on the Inner Harbour, is quiet and very convenient. Govemment Street and the Inner Harbour are only about a block and a half away. Yet the greatest thing for me about this hotel, and why I return here almost every year - is the shuttle service. There is a first-come, first-served van which will take guests about 10 blocks in any direction, or pick them up from a pre-arranged spot (it used to be that one could ask to be picked up just about anywhere. Because of the traffic patterns now in effect, one gets picked up at an arranged spot). Because I have a disability, and walking more than a certain amount can be difficult to impossible, this is a real boon. Most often I ask the shuttle service to take me to around Herald Street or Chinatown in the morning - about the outer limit of the Inner Harbour walking area. I then make my way slowly back to the Hotel, walking at my own pace and stopping to shop, eat or explore. If it’s a particularly bad day physcially, I will call and ask to be picked up, too. The phone number is conveniently printed on the Room Key Card. This service is one of the main reasons I come back to the Royal Scot - yet everything is really quite satisfying here.

The pictures (and the hotel name) indicate a classic property in an historic town. Nope. It is a recent building attempting to draw on classical. The decor is very drab. The check-in of 4 pm is extremely late. I checked to see if my room was ready 3 times. When it was finally ready, they did not text me and told me I should have checked; this is exactly what I said I was doing. I called to tell them the a/c wasn’t working; the phone did not work. When I went to the desk, I was told there was not a/c; it was on the website. BUT the room was about $400 a night, and this was an Expedia deal. No hotel for this price ever does not have a/c. At half the price, this would be an okay hotel. No water in the room. In my extremely pricey home of San Francisco, a much better hotel can be had for the money. The entire harbor area is just a tourist trap with extremely high prices. The botanical gardens trip cost the two of us $85. The city is so blah that the bus driver /guide was actually commenting on the malls that we passed. The food in town was highly mediocre (except for Chinatown) and really expensive. The Victoria airport is 45 minutes away with travel on 35mph roads with traffic. The entire “gem of a city” image is a myth. The setting is beautiful but the execution is really bad. And that certainly includes the hotel.

I would ask that there be something in the room to tell you times of the pool, where the pool and game rooms are and the ice machine. Usually in a hotel they have a book that tells you about the restaurants in the area. Otherwise good room other than a light out in lamp and when we moved the couch to look at tv from an angle there was someone's sock there.

It is so close to the ferry from Port Angeles. Walking distance to all the cool places. Loved the game room in the basement! The staff was amazing! For the not so great .. room carpet was worn out. Dirty looking. Room smelled of stale cigarettes. Probably on the peeling wallpaper. The bathroom tub was peeling as well with the walls banged up and new calking needed everwhere. The ceiling had stains as well. It just needs a major overhaul!Probably from years
