I strongly feel that it needs to be listed in this hotel/motel details that this place makes you sign a contract upon arrival that no more than 2 people will be in a room at any time and threatens to take your deposit if you have anyone in your room.
We travelled with another family staying in this hotel as well. We had planned to gather and eat dinner and plan the next day's portion of our trip, but we were all so worried about losing our deposit if we got together that we did not. The staff were polite, but our room was dark, some of the lights did not work, it smelled stale, there were spiderwebs with spiders in the lights over the bed and the breakfast offering was substandard for their pricepoint.
My recommendation to you if you are considering this hotel, pay the extra $50 a night for a regular room at the St. Martin hotel and suites in Laval. It's a night and day difference in experience and atmosphere, and you will be treated like an adult guest at the St Martin rather than being presumed guilty of being reckless at Le Chabrol.
