The Nelligan was recommended to us by a friend. Our room was next to the rooftop bar and elevators. Noisy and a lot of traffic coming and going. Our room was not clean (trash under the bed) and the bathroom was nice but the toilet seat was broken and the sink faucet was broken (Leaked and not secured to the sink). We were only there for one night but I let the desk know upon checkout and he was surprised but I did not see him make any notes in the system to have it checked and repaired. Hopefully, they did. Most likely will not stay there again.

We have stayed at the Hotel Nelligan for several years and love it there. A little disappointed this year as upon our arrival, we were told that we had been upgraded to a penthouse suite. This was very generous. Looking forward to it. The room was not ready so we killed some time waiting for it. When we checked back, the room was ready but a different clerk informed us that they could get $2000.00 dollars for the penthouse, so they had now given us another room. It was an upgrade from our original apparently. The staff member told us it has a fireplace, which was insignificant since the temperature was 27 felt like 30 and that it also had a jacuzzi bathtub. The jets did not work in the tub. The first desk clerk that we spoke to did leave us a bottle of Prosecco which was very thoughtful. It was the second gentleman that informed us of the amount they could get for the penthouse . I found that very unprofessional.

Quick check in. Assigned Rm 401. Small but nicely appointed. Problem was next morning before 7 am carts were moving across floor above servicing the 5th floor kitchen. Then before 8 am hammering of construction! Moved us to Rm 317 and it was wonderful. Rooftop bar/restaurant beautiful. Street torn up for several blocks due to construction and our taxi driver couldn’t figure out how to get us there so we had to walk 3 blks with our luggage.

Staff was great, especially Jade, the concierge. Our experience was a bit diminished by the road construction out front with cross walks closed and dust/noise. Also, construction was taking place inside facillity. One of the elevators had ply wood on all walls and looked unattractive.

Excellent location in Old Montreal. Rooftop terrace terrific. Excellent staff and room. Road construction/closed roads right outside hotel so you hv to walk your luggage a couple of blocks through the construction.
