The property doesn't have on the vip pool any entertainment, the food on the buffet is not good, you could only eat at the steakhouse and hibachi restaurant. The room service food is disgusting. The butler Francisco is very nice he help our stay to be more pleasant and also Nelly at the Vip pool.

This was our first time in Punta Cana with my family and we loved it. We will definitely be coming back to this same resort. It family friendly. From when we arrived until we left the staff was amazing with us specially Javier and Perla (Carnival Buffet) who made us feel at home and helped us out with any questions or concerns. I really can't say nothing negative about my stayed at dreams onyx resort...my overall rating for this hotel is a 10 plussss....food was amazing, same as entertainment and the bars staff were amazing...shout out to Marcos and Felix who gave me excellent service down the pool bar.. Now, Javier our concierge really deserve all of the best, he went beyond on everything he did for us, always on top of everything we needed, this gentlemen took care of everything for us specially on our reservations for all the restaurant and all of pur accommodation, thank you Javier for taking carebof me and my family, see you next time.

We have been to this property with this the third time, we like it so much that we decide to get married this year. Everything went perfect, Javier was our designed concierge. He was outstanding. He made us felt at home not only to my and my wife but to all our friends and family. If you are planning to get married I highly recommend this property. Also, Manuela our wedding coordinator was excellent. We have an excellent stay and a wedding to remember for eternity.

This was our 4th time staying at an All Inclusive resort at the Carribean. This one had a unique touch which others did not - a personal concierge! Our concierge was Javier - he showed us around the property and to our room and explained everything. we thought that's where we part ways. Little did we know that this partnership continues throughout our stay. Every morning, Javier would text us with a schedule which contained a list of activities for adults and kids for the day. Every afternoon, he would check with us and see how our stay is going. He would also provide recommendations and help schedule our spa services and restaurant (Asian cuisine requires advanced reservations for the Hibachi show). After bookings were completed, he would also follow up to see how our experience was and if anything else is needed. That made our stay much better and simpler - we felt like we have a local friend who is always available for us. The other thing we loved was accessibility to everything - all restaurants are near each other and very close to the beach. The gym and spa are within the area as well. There are about 6 swimming pools with impressive water slides and fun water dance activities and swim-up bars. We'd highly recommend staying at this hotel, especially if you're coming with kids, and if your concierge is Javier, you're definitely in luck!

Upon our arrival at the hotel, we encountered a few issues that initially dampened our spirits. This vacation was special to us—it was our daughter's first trip to the country, and we wanted her to have the best experience possible. We were also celebrating both my husband’s and my birthday, so the stakes were high. Thankfully, we were fortunate enough to be assigned to Javier Valdez, the concierge at the hotel. I’m not sure where to begin in describing just how extraordinary his service was. Javier provided an exceptional level of care that truly made our stay unforgettable. From the moment he greeted us, he demonstrated an uncanny ability to anticipate our needs, offering insightful recommendations that perfectly suited our tastes. His genuine warmth, attentiveness, and extensive knowledge of the resort made navigating the large property effortless. No request was too big or small—Javier handled everything with grace and efficiency, always going the extra mile to ensure we had the best experience possible. He began celebrating our birthdays days in advance, and on the day itself, he went above and beyond to make sure it was truly unforgettable. Most importantly, our daughter had such a fantastic experience that she completely forgot about the issues we had at check-in. It’s rare to encounter such a dedicated professional who is so passionate about making guests feel welcome and well-cared-for. Thanks to Javier’s exceptional service, our trip was elevated from 5* to 10* .

Javier Valdez was our private butler and he was great. He was very responsive and made our trip very memorable. The resort was great and the beach was very nice. Top notch service all around.

We just got back and really enjoyed our stay. We thought we were upgraded because we had a butler and were staying on the preferred side only to find out we weren’t actually preferred. We weren’t allowed on the adults only section. That was really confusing but we were fine. Food was good, we really liked the steakhouse! If you’re a couple, I don’t recommend this resort. We stayed at a Dreams before that didn’t have a lot of kids but here there were kids everywhere! Totally our fault and we know for next time. The staff was ok. Some were super friendly, others were not. The beach and ocean was wonderful!

Overall, it was an AMAZING experience. This was my daughter’s first time out of the country and our first time out the country since COVID. We came to celebrate our daughter’s fourth birthday. And picked the resort because of the kid friendly activities. Javier, the Expedia concierge, was great! He really helped execute my daughter’s birthday perfectly! He had the decor set up, cupcake and got us into the steakhouse for dinner! Truly just outstanding service. Rosaynn at the Exploerers club also made my daughter’s trip memorable with her face painting and nail painting she did for her. My daughter wanted to see her everyday! The other ladies at the kids club do a phenomenal job and making the children feel welcomed and ensure they have activities for them to do. Jenny at the pool bar is also outstanding and makes the best strawberry daiquiris virgin and not! Lol! German from room service was amazing as well very attentive and personable. We will def be back to Onyx strictly on the customer service from the staff. We did have an unpleasant experience with someone slamming on our door at midnight but security swiftly took care of it. I recommend for families and if you or your child ave allergies they will def take care of you like they did my baby!
