We had such an incredible stay at Ocean El Faro. We had a swim up suite so every day just had beautiful views and was so convenient. In addition we had a butler named Jose, he was so attentive and made sure my husband and myself were taken care of. He booked all reservations for us, made sure our room was stocked, and took care of any special requests. We could not say enough how great he was, would recommend requesting him personally if possible. Where we were located we took advantage of the Pool Bar by the lazy river. Omar and Danny saw us coming and would have our drink order ready for us, they were excellent. It’s also close to the beach entrance, which we enjoyed some evening walks on. Our favorite restaurant at the resort was Dolce Vita, it is one that requires a reservation. Our server Luis was also a favorite, his recommendations made for an even better evening. The resort is large, but they make sure it is so convenient with multiple pools, restaurants, and a trolley you can catch to help you get around. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Ocean El Faro and would love to visit again.

Our stay was absolutely fantastic, and a huge part of that was thanks to Jose Miguel. No matter what we needed, he was always there to help, making sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. His kindness and professionalism truly stood out! Beyond the excellent service, the resort itself was beautiful—stunning beaches, great food, and plenty of activities to enjoy. The staff were always friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. We can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful property, great entertainment in the lobby but other than the 'concierge' & barpersons, the employees were unenthusiastic. The overly aggressive vendors were bullying guests. I notified them in advance that I was celebrating a birthday & my 25th wedding anniversary.. nothing was some done for me so I gave up & just made the best of it.

The property is very beautiful and spacious. The food lacks flavor and is simply not delicious. The restaurants are worse than the buffet. And the service is just poor. They put dishes in front of you with a lightning speed because they were preplated earlier that day and sometimes it happens when you are still eating your previous dish. Overall you can finish your restaurant dining in 45 minutes max. Servers in the buffet section are rude. Travelled as a couple and sat down at a table for 4 in a mostly empty dining room (our table got taken by another guest while we were at the buffet), we immediately were told by a passing by server “it’s for 4 people, not 2”. Not all staff speaks English which results in misunderstandings between staff and guests during their bingo nights. If you are on the family side or adult side your fridge will not include liquor. There were stains on the linen and couch pillows in the room. TV didn’t work and took 2 days and several calls to the reception to get it fixed. We requested for the manager to come down to our room to point out the issues to which we were told we will have to come to the reception to file a complaint. Mind you when they want to get 22k from you for their “vacation club” they will drive you around on a cart. Staff asks you for opinions on the service and insists on reviews on google maps. When you are honest with them, they look annoyed and appalled by the fact that you are not giving them 10/10. Will not be back.

My friend and I had an amazing 5-night stay at Ocean El Faro! The resort is beautiful, with lots of entertainment and activities to enjoy throughout the day. The food was fantastic with plenty of options to choose from, and everything was well-prepared. A special shoutout to our assistant, José Miguel Jiménez, who really made our stay stand out. He was incredibly helpful, always responding to messages quickly, and he made all our restaurant reservations for us. His punctuality and friendly demeanor made everything so much easier—5-star service from him for sure! Overall, we had a fantastic time, and we’ll definitely recommend Ocean El Faro to others. We can’t wait to come back!

Honest review from a married couple who stayed on the El Beso side from 1/18-1/25 Service staff were very kind and helpful. We were especially grateful for Andrea, our housekeeping lady. Many reviews prior to our trip spoke poorly of the food, however, we really enjoyed the restaurants we tried.The app was very easy to use, WiFi was excellent, and making reservations was very easy. We enjoy getting a little dressed up for dinner even though it is not our norm. So, the dress codes were no problem for us, but we saw many that dressed more down than we did and they had no problem being allowed to dine. For breakfasts and lunches we enjoyed the large buffet on the main strip, Pez Dama (the El Beso buffet), and Ocean Burger on the El Faro side by the pools/lazy river. The buffets had lots of options and were fairly consistent from day to day. Other resorts we have tried often included specialty days. This one did not but what was offered was a good variety and good tasting. There are bars everywhere. Restrooms are also accessible almost everywhere. We had no trouble getting loungers by the pool or beach each day, but if you want one of the padded canopy loungers, go out early to claim one (like 6am or earlier). We would recommend this resort to others and would stay here again.

*WILL NOT ACCOMMODATE DISABILITIES* *FOOD ALLERGIES* and disabled guests would probably be better off at another resort. Almost none of the buffet food is labeled. When it is labeled it’s often incorrect. There is no one in the dining area willing to provide provide ingredients, there are no alternatives provided for vegetarian, gluten free, etc. There are not enough serving spoons (think 2 pairs of tongs for a whole spread of cold cuts and cheeses), so even if you find safe dishes, they are almost certainly cross contaminated. I have several autoimmune diseases, and I had a particularly bad night during my stay where I wasn’t able to go down for dinner. My friends attempted to bring back something for me to eat, explaining that I was sick in the room, and were told that was not allowed . No dinner for me. When it comes to food, this resort is really only for people with no allergies or health concerns, and able bodied enough to get to the restaurants, which can be a long walk from the room, depending on which building you’re in. On another note, for general travelers, ALL the bars besides the one on the far end of the resort in the lobby close at 6PM!!! Lol. There is “room service” which offers 5 options, all containing gluten. Room service will NOT bring you a mixed drink, only beer and wine (I can’t have either due to allergies), alternatives/flexibility will not be offered. Lived on pineapple D: I’m an RN and this was scary. Incredibly dangerous food safety practices.

This resort was great! We saw some very conflicting opinions before we went so we weren’t sure what to think. Resort is BEAUTIFUL. It is so photo worthy and stunning. There was never a boring moment here either. They have activities and entertainment all day long. The beach party and fire show was our favorite part. There is also no shortage of food. Buffet had a lot of options and there were many other restaurants to choose from. Our only complaint was that food was not super delicious. But it was all good and we stayed full anyways. The beach itself wasn’t too awesome due to strong waves and rocks. HOWEVER… the lagoon was amazing. Best part of the resort. Water was relatively calm and clear (and warm). We brought goggles and saw a sea turtle! It was amazing. The lagoon totally made up for the lack of beach area. We could’ve stayed there for hours. The pools were fantastic. Always had plenty of room and also had entertainment if we wanted it. Drinks and bars were fantastic! Frozen drinks were delicious and they could pretty much make you anything you wanted. Overall, staff was pretty good. Some not so much, but you get that everywhere! We had no issues with staff or they or anything. Everything was clean, fun, and we would consider coming back.

Overall this is a nice hotel. Pools are great, rooms are nice, lazy river is awesome, the gardens are gorgeous, landscaping is top notch, food is fantastic. Service at bars could be better. Quite slow, under staffed and often out of basic items like Soda water and mojito mix. The hotel says shuttle service is included - IT IS NOT INCLUDED if you book with Expedia. Had to pay for transportation both ways. Couldn’t get USD on site, no one would change my larger Dominican peso bills. The water is rough at this location, there is a small lagoon that is nice sandy and calm, however, it is no comparison to Bavaro beach. It is about 30 min from Punta Cana with nothing near by. Really enjoyed it, but likely a one time stay for those reasons.

The property was very nice HOWEVER and this was so bad we actually had to make a complaint. The food was HORRIBLE! It is such a shame because the resort is beautiful and our stay was good for the need, but having bad food truly brings the value down dramatically. I am Vegan and I specifically stated this when booking and when I got to the resort, yet there were no options for me to eat. The majority of the time I was left very hungry and unsatisfied because of the make shift meal I had to try to create. The worst part, when I asked the chefs at the buffet and at the restaurants if they could make something for me, giving them the details of what you can make for vegans, they did not care or barely tried. We had to go to guest services to speak on this because at one point I was getting extremely hungry. Sadly if I wanted to ever return to this resort, I would have to decline due to lackluster meal options and lack of care from the cooking staff.

Beds were comfortable , Bathroom was in need for MUCHO. maintenance. Staff was rude . Food wasn’t good . You go for Dominican Food In DR and it wasn’t bad . My mom can make better Mangu. ☹️

Garden ground floor room had broken sliding glass door that did not lock! Safety issue and it was not repaired or no offer for another room until the end of my stay. Plumbing was leaking all over room. Refrigerator did not work. TV broke. And blow dryer shot pieces of charred plastic in my eyes when it broke because it was so old. The manager offered a 25 minute massage for the inconvenience it was not acceptable it ruined what should have been a nice trip.
