The Tropicana is 60 years old, and seems like it has never had a renovation. That is part of it's charm. I felt like my suite was a set on the TV show, "Mad Men". Still, I enjoyed my stay, and probably will stay at the Tropicana for my future visits to Vancouver as long as it still stands.

Thank you for the stay. Although building a little older I found everything I needed - and the view from my high level window amazing! Being so central it was an easy walk to the waterfront -even Stanley park, and of course many shops. So it fitted my needs fine. cheers

Good times!
My friend and I were staying on the Mainland for a concert and decided to book a room here. The front desk guy was super pleasant and checked us in right away. The place is definitely old, but the room was huge, and had ocean views and a balcony. I'd stay here again for sure.

Its an old place. Dont expect too much. For the price you get what you paid for. But its in a very convenient location and in central downtown. Its walking distance to shopping and restaurants.

Location was great Walking distance to restaurants and a groocery store. Carpeting poor shape tripping hazzards and holes in carpet, No heat or air conditioning. I had to repair toilet seat which was loose. Would not recommend

My main concern about this hotel was it had no a/c but windows that can open for the breeze. Coming from New Orleans I was skeptical my fiancé and I would be comfortable. I was so wrong, we were on the 10th floor with an awesome view and the weather was in the 60’s. I found myself closing the big window because we actually got a little chilly which was fine with us. The man at the front desk was very nice and accommodating, we got off of our ship hours before we could check in but the nice man let us put our luggage in a room right off of the office while we roamed around until we could check in. He even let us check in a couple of hours early which was much appreciated! Thank you Tropicana, I will definitely stay here again.

Would recommend you book elsewhere the state of the entire hotel is horrific, you don’t know if the lift is moving because it doesn’t show the level floor your on so you could be stuck or you could be moving you’ll have to take the chance. The smell as I walked into the room (1103) was disgusting but at least the cleaners had left the window wide open, the whole hotel just needs a do over it’s a sad depressing place thankfully this was a one night stay at the end of my trip and not a longer stay. Do yourself a favour and look else where
