There was an issue at check in when I could not get into the flat with the access code provided. I was eventually able to reach staff via the chat and resolved the issue after being provided with a new code. Other than that hiccup, the stay was fine, the flat was clean and the noise from the streets were negligible. The one observation with the 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment is that there is only one air con installed inside the half-walled bedroom whereas the other room has none; so it is quite hot in the other room if the windows are not opened. I would recommend this place for those who would like to stay in old montreal.

Loved my stay at Sonder Penny Lane! The space was spotless, had a great vibe, and the location was unbeatable - steps from the Metro, Port of Montreal, and great shops. Super convenient and comfortable. Would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it for anyone visiting the city.

The location is great, it was comfortable and had everything we needed. The air conditioning didn’t function very well and the shower floor was treacherous — like a skating rink. That said, I would stay here again.

The studio was large and exactly as they described. But there were a couple of things that they should address. 1. If you don't have cast to watch streaming TV, it is very difficult to use the television. They need a better set up. I had to call for help multiple times. 2. The curtains need clips to open and close more easily, it is very difficult to deal with the curtains and I worried the rods would come off because they kept moving. 3. I couldn't find all the kitchen material immediately. But when I did there were things I wanted that were missing. It took me two times to get what I needed from the online chat and onsite manager. Basically, I wanted more baking trays since I was heating or using stuff in the oven. 4. It would have been nice to have a couple of basics--i.e. oil, vinegar, etc. 5. The main issue I had was communication. After I took a shower one morning before going to my work appointments, I came out and saw next to the radiator a massive water flood. I mopped it up with a towel but I do not know how it got there. I promptly messaged them and gave them leave to enter my condo to check and fix the issue. When I returned late that night, they had not done anything (apparently they peaked in). I messaged them asking if a maintenance person or plumber had actually figured it out. They said it looked fine to them but had not sent in any maintenance people. I told them, I do not want to be charged if some sort of plumbing disaster happens if I take a shower again.

Our experience was not great. Our codes did not work when we got there and the app wouldn’t function. Spent 10-15 minutes on hold waiting to talk to someone to get new codes. The room was much smaller than it appeared in the pictures and the end tables were very rickety. It was also very loud at night with loud people in the streets and 3am garbage trucks.

The property was very clean and quite convenient. Very close to attractions and restaurants and the subway. The street was a bit noisy and heard insise the room but wouldnt keep me from staying there.

We have stayed at other Sonder properties but we do not recommend this one at all. Our first room floor vibrated constantly (we think from the restaurant below) so much that glasses on the coffee table shook and the clubs next-door or super loud until 3 AM. Our next room was also super loud because of some other Mechanical unit - maybe the hvac system - we don’t know. But four nights of the worst sleep and no solution offered by the property.

The AC did NOT work…82 degrees the first two days. The terrace patio furniture paint needed sanding/painting and was not clean. Consequently I requested some financial reimbursement from Sonder but they declined and instead offered a change in location to Sonder Appolon a few blocks away- too much effort for the last night.

Great location, apt was a great size for family of four and had all the necessities. Couch and living room chair are very stylish and comfortable. Mattresses are stiff and the airflow could be improved. The bedroom gets stuffy with the door closed. Parking locations provided we're not easy to locate, possibly due to construction. We used a different lot which was fine.

Family Getaway

We stayed here as a family and the location was great. Our front door was VERY squeaky and noisy but other than that everything was good. The pillows weren't our favourite but we made due. The beds were comfy for me and our daughter as they're on the firmer side. There were lots of glasses, cups, plates, and everything was very stocked and there were replacements in the lobby.
