I experienced two unauthorized charges on my credit card without any explanation. Upon receiving the alert from my bank, I contacted my credit card company, who assured me that the first transaction had been approved using my PIN. However, the young lady informed me that it had not gone through and requested to see my card. She proceeded to tap my card again without my consent, as the credit card company indicated. When I returned to the desk, the same young made a dismissive comment about switching terminals due to an issue, as if I was supposed to be aware of it. It seemed she took offence to my inquiry about the infringement of an additional transaction. I wonder how she would feel if someone swiped her credit card twice without permission or an explanation. The young lady then assured me it would only be processed once during the nightly reconciliation.
Additionally, we were quoted a rate of $25 per night for parking while on vacation, but upon arrival, we were informed that the price had increased to $30 per night. While I appreciate that they honoured the original quote, it was frustrating to find that we were charged for parking on the night of our stay, especially when there is no optional parking in the area. It’s hard to believe. Moreover, I was never asked for my Hilton Hotels Points card. As such, I will certainly consider other options before returning to a Hilton Garden Hotel in the future. I do intend to take it up with the company upon our return.
