Old and tired property and room. Old furniture. Bathroom was not adequate with no sink or mirrors. We cancelled our reservation and did not stay at the property.

I had a great time in Victoria. The Bedford is super close to everything. The room was spacious, and clean. The bed, however was pretty uncomfortable, and I didn’t get a whole lot of sleep. The TV was in a slightly awkward area and very small. All in all, great location, the staff were wonderful, and it was clean.

Location and cost were primary factors in choosing this location. We had street view but in hindsight a more interior located room would have been quieter, especially on a Friday night. Staff at checkin was very friendly and helpful. One literal sticking point was the poor design/condition of bathroom door.

Old hotel in a historical building. Great location in downtown Victoria. Rooms are dated and bathrooms are not private - only glazed windows or doors that don't block out silhouettes/movement of your body in the shower, for example. Silver fish seen on bathroom floor. Carpet burn mark from an iron by the door. Great for me as i was traveling alone, not looking for 5 star and like the uniqueness of the old building plus not there to stay in the room and watch the tiny tv. Parking is a nightmare so if you don't have a vehicle and just want a clean place to stay, right downtown Victoria, the Bedford might work for you.

so noisy outside by the restaurants and bars and inside, pipes, ventilation, (even sounded like rain pounding on the ceiling despite no rain that night) etc were so noisy it was difficult to fall asleep even at 1AM. Would never recommend this to anyone because of that.

Overall, our stay was fine but I likely won't stay here again. The property is a busy, touristy area which is handy to be close to attractions and many restaurants and shops. However it is very noisy late into the night. Bring earplugs. When we arrived around 3:45pm, our room was not ready and the staff said we could come back. Although check in is at 4pm, we felt our room (all rooms) should be clean by check in time so we asked them to check if it was ready, so we could drop our bags and go to our event. The room was a Deluxe Double Queen, listed on Expedia as having 2 bathrooms. We were excited but apparently, none of the rooms have 2 bathrooms. For our troubles they gave us a $25 voucher for the pub downstairs, which was disappointing. We never used the voucher as we were busy with our events. Lastly, the room and hotel are dated. Although they look freshly painted and the linens were clean, the bathrooms were in disrepair with old tile, cracked and peeling faucet and hooks that were falling off the wall. And the carpet is old. Very old.

I went to bed late and woke up with a killer back ache, saw the box spring was broken. Shower was pretty gross. On the positive the location is perfect and the staff were helpful.
