Hotel was in a good location, however is was a little rundown. Not what I would expect from a 4 star hotel. The carpet in our room was quite stained and dirty, toilet seat was broken and shower door seemed to be broken. The bed was clean but very uncomfortable. The room we got did not look like the picture on the website. Also did not receive the free water in our room.

The staff members were kind and very receptive and were somewhat helpful. The property is in okay condition. It is dated and the lobby area is quite eclectic. If you like Peter Max art and odd art sculpture this is your kind of place. The free breakfast consisted of a cup of coffee in a paper cup, juice and a croissant every morning. The selection could not be considered "breakfast". Our room was spacious and clean, and the bathroom had been recently upgraded, however, the glass enclosure on the shower was collapsing inward and was very dangerous. We couldn't use the shower the last night of our stay. They didn't have anyone who could repair it, nor did they have any available rooms to move us. We thought they would at least give us a discount. We were told they would email us about a discount after they sent our complaint to the manager. We never received an email response or a discount. All in all, it was not a good value for the rate they charge.

We love L’Hotel in Montreal. It is the only place we stay while visiting the city. The hotel is very clean, the staff is always helpful, and it’s a short walk to Old Montreal.

Clean and comfortable room. The hotel has attractive quirky decor and is in a great location for visiting old Montreal. No restaurant or snacks available and breakfast very basic and served on paper plates. First day we were surprised to discover the bar did not stock wine, and the second evening we returned to find the bar closed as the barman was on break. Overall a good stay

This hotel is run down. Chipped paint, no handles in bathtub, lots of steps to get into hotel, we had to ask for clean towels, carpet was pulling apart, lower rooms had street noise, furniture old and should have been replaced, two light bulbs needed to be replaced, bathroom floor tiles were cracked but the toliet seat was totally cracked but after complaining about it, a new one was installed. On a brighter side the staff was great but all were under 25 years old. We will not stay there again. Overpriced for what you received.

The architecture on the outside of the hotel is quite stunning. It has a beautiful lobby with comfortable sitting in the bar area. The artwork throughout the building adds to its character. This is where the nice comments about the hotel end. The outside of the hotel looks neglected as the windows are dirty & the steps leading into the hotel need cleaning. We booked a room with a separate bedroom. We didn’t realize that the room faced a light well that lacked light. The room was so dark that we had to have another lamp brought. Lights in the offices on the other side of the light well would shine into the living room at night. Since there’s only sheer curtains in the living room, it didn’t block the light or allow for privacy. I can’t speak for other rooms however, the room we booked is in need of an update. There was a bureau that appeared to have a TV on it at one time. There was no TV in the living room area only in the bedroom. Other things about the room, hanging poster artwork in a frame with glass had fallen behind the frame. There was a college dorm style fridge in one corner with a coffee maker on top. If you wanted any coffee pods, you had to go down to reception.To top it off, we found an Owlet brand Wi-Fi camera in the bedroom armoire. The camera did not have a charge. I took it to reception and they were very nonchalant about it, an apology would have been nice. For the amount we paid, there are much nicer hotels nearby.

I really truly loved the concept of LHotel and thought it would be so fun to stay there. Honestly, no. The hotel felt so dirty. It had stains on the carpet. It smelt funny. and it had someone else hair in the "clean" bathroom. thankfully we only stayed for one night. stay away.
