The Metcalfe Hotel is a beautiful place to stay. I loved the welcoming lobby with natural light coming from the skylight and the wood book shelves adding to the ambiance. The menu at Cocotte was excellent. The restaurant and hotel staff were all friendly and professional. My room was comfortable, clean and well equipped. I look forward to returning to this downtown Ottawa gem of a hotel.

It was five. Got the executive King room. It was very cold, didn't get warm at all no matter how long the heater was on. As soon as someone moved into the conjoined room, I heard very loudly and couldn't sleep. Then I had to switch to a smaller room. Not a great experience but would have been good if not for the temperature and noise.

From the moment of valet parking- service was average. I was a little surprised with how the door was being held open. The team member did not fully go on the outside to hold the door open. Front desk customer service needs some training with greeting guests. It sometimes felt like an inconvenience. The restaurant Cocoette was excellent and very busy with many locals visiting for breakfast, dinner etc. I would return, just needs training and attention to details with front entrance and snow removal and front desk check in training.

The hotel is very nice but they insist on a $150 deposit on top of their rate advertised on Expedia for incidentals. It gets credited back on check-out but i think thats a bit much. Food was very good at the restaurant and staff excellent. My room overlooked the commin area which was very loud one night past 1 am. Overall a very nice hotel.
