El Cortez has all the amenities of the big casinos but ITS smaller and more convenient. You have a casino, bar, restaurant AND Starbucks inside the hotel. The room was very good size, great beds AND we loved the bathrooms, specially the shower which has different modes. The common áreas of the hotel could use a facelift. Walking distance of Freemont street AND quick Uber to the strip. Beware of the noise, there are 3 night clubs across the street fron the hotel AND the music can be heard inside the rooms up until 2 or 3 am. Also the smell of weed around the clubs is ver strong. I would stay again for sure.

the first room we had, the AC didn't work, shower flooded the bathroom and no wifi. we moved the second night to another room and had the same issues, but this one had working AC. before we moved rooms, we asked the hotel to fix the AC, but they didn't communicate it with other staff members. this is a low end hotel if you are only staying for a few nights and want to be on fremont st. otherwise not worth the hassle

Check in took bit time consuming (manually entered drivers lic info into computer). The free offerings,with the El Cortez game card, was confusing and time consuming,,, Got to be a simpler way to give those out... I still give 5 stars, was all good for us...

Good one night stay.
Love the gaming tables; however did not score many comps due to club card being replaced twice for lack of reading the strip. Used soap bar in the shower and different name on tv for greeting. lol. Love the history of the hotel (stayed in original 47) but loud at night outside until :300am. Would stay again but in the towers.

Affordable. But very poor Internet service. It was extremely frustrating. We asked housekeeper to change beddings and she literally put the same old beddings back on instead of clean ones. Felt unsafe. The elevators don't have any form of security like you don't need to scan your room tg to access the elevator. Anyone can come into the elevator and potentially come up the floors to rob customers.
