PADDLE BOARD & HOT TUB All Included ENJOY Private WATERFRONT Beach House
Share in our blessing at the Westview House. We're Chris & Carolyn Mortensen and we're new to renting our spot, but we're excited for you to experience the place that we love so much. We bought this, our dream home in 2016 with great plans to enjoy the beach daily rain or shine, to play with our growing son Kaiden on the tidal sandbar late into the warm summer evenings and to dream big and plan upcoming adventures together on cool autumn nights over wine in the hot tub.
Well were we ever surprised when within a year of our new house purchase we both began to feel the call on our hearts to go and serve at a Young Life Camp in Princeton BC.
What'd we do? We moved!!! We're so excited to see where this big adventure will lead.
One day we'll be back on the Sunshine Coast as it truly does capture our hearts but for now we're making our dream home available for rent to special couples looking to refocus themselves and invest in their relationship.
You'll walk in the front door and first be struck by the amazing waterfront view. It kind of looks like you're on a boat because all you see is water. We are renting the main level of the house, during your stay you will have sole private access to the upper deck, lower patio, hot tub and beach access. The remainder of the house will NOT be occupied during your stay. Just a little time by the fire with a book or a paddle in our kayak on the still waters is all it will take to have you hooked.
The Sunshine Coast has a pace and charm all its own and our house is perfectly situated to make the most of your visit. It is situated a 4min drive from the Sechelt (see-sh-elt) town centre which can also be accessed by foot along the waterfront.
Make yourself at home and enjoy the cozy amenities that include full kitchen, full bathroom, master bedroom & living room with gas fireplace, TV, Netflix, Wifi, wireless music system. We also offer gas BBQ, Hot Tub, free Stand Up Paddle Board, sun chaises, patio dining w/sun shade umbrellas and many more daily necessities.
When our family does manage to make it back for some personal R&R time, we have a number of favourite coastal activities that we enjoy doing together. If it happens to be on days of extreme tides, we will make sure to walk down the bay to the huge sand bar that is exposed at low tide. We explore the tidal pools, sink ourselves down into the "quicksand" and swing on the rope swing for sure! If its winter time we can be up on the groomed snowshoe & cross country ski trail at Dakota ridge in 30min. It's also just a fun place to sled and explore the coastal back country.
We hit the Basted Baker for our morning cup of joe along with a fresh pastry and stroll along the path to Snicket park to just chill on the tide sculpted rocks in the morning sun.
If we happen to be staying over on a Friday night we're often tempted by the kitchy "Mexican Night" dinner at Pebbles Restaurant. Far from authentic but good food and $5 fruity drinks are always hard to pass up:)
Ok. ok. I digress... back to the house. So, its really light and bright with open south west exposure and tons of daylight flooding in. What seemed at first to be a downfall of the house is that the sunset in the summer happens just out of sight from our living room. Bummer right? Well not really because what this does is forces us to fill our wine glass and head down to the water where the full and lingering sunset can taken in from water level with the reflections dancing off the waves. See!? Way better than watching from the living room.
