First off, you’ll get locked out of your room at least 2 times within 4 days. Our keys stopped working twice and they blamed it on the magnet even though we did not keep the key anywhere near something that would damage it. Second, don’t go to the spa if you only speak English. The staff did not understand me and could not explain the process to me. I ended up leaving out of confusion and frustration. Third, DO NOT agree to a sales pitch. They will not tell you about the 90 minute presentation until it’s too late to back out. They sell it to you with a free breakfast at the 5 diamond resort next door. The breakfast was worse than the one at our resort by a long shot. The free gift was the trip to the spa (and you can read how that turned out for us). Fourth complaint, do not listen to the dress code that they say they have. They do not enforce it. When I asked if they enforced it, they said “not really”. So we sat at a “5 star” restaurant and I got to stare at peoples feet and no sleeved arms while I’m sitting there sweating in pants and a long shirt. Bars do not open at 10 more like 10:30-11:00. If it rains during the day there is basically nothing to do. Staff was not very engaging for most of the trip other than the events people but even they didn’t seem into it for most activities. Our server at the seafood restaurant helped us out with something and we were so glad to have good service that we tipped her $30. Airport has better shops than the resort. I could keep going

Good stay. We moved here after staying in an awful hotel nearby that we had to get out of. This place did the job. It is a huge complex, maybe a little bit dated, but good.

Please understand Inhave never written a review before but feel the need to give you the heads up. I’ve been to Mexico 6 times and I was extremely disappointed. This is a 3 star resort far from 4-5 stars. Food is the same all the time, Brazilian restaurant not worth it to go. Pool had constant dirt, lime wedges, bugs and we even found a hair extension. It was dirty every day. The drinks are so watered down that I, a rare drinker who had at least 4 drinks had zero effect on me. Other visitors expected a nicer resort that was a little high end we’re just as disappointed. If you don’t believe me, go and you’ll see how dated, dirty, low quality food. They never stop reminding you, waves is the lowest of the rest of the hotels. Try one of the RIU’s they’re great. Will never stay at a Iberostar hotel. I expected more than they cared to deliver.

#1 roaches in room. A lot of large cockroaches and spiders. #2 the first day we arrived they tried to push and sell their memrships. #3 same fast food everyday #4 the shows are NOT interestong and cheap quality. #5 the beach was OK. BUT THE OCEAN WAS DANGEROUS with strong waves. We were not able to enjoy ocean and beach with kids because it was dangerous.

Beautifully resort beach and pool side was clean and very comfortable. Only cons I’d say wish the transportation around the resort came around a bit faster most of the visit we had to walk a lot whether if it was to eat breakfast in the morning or for dinner. Also would be nice if there was a schedule of which restaurants were open and not maybe in the lobby or something.

Overall great stay
our stay at Del Mar was great, lots of activities for young and older. Beach was nice except for the seaweed. Food was awesome at the buffet but I felt the Italian and Mexican restaurants were mediocre. Everyone was super friendly and helpful with anything we needed. Our only complaint was the beds were very uncomfortable..too hard. The last 2 nights I slept on the couch

Food is just a disaster in every restaurant we’ve tried in the resort, despite the high price in comparison with other all inclusive resorts around the world. Plus, the majority of them without AC, in Cancun heat it’s unacceptable! Transportation to move between areas is slow. This trip was a complete nightmare, all we can say. Never again.

My stay was lovely the only thing I would complain about is the shuttles need to run a little more frequently. The property is large and walking or waiting in that heat or humidity is almost unbearable. However I would stay again and recommend this resort to family and friends!

Mosquitoes EVERYWHERE and the bug spray provided in the rooms do not work. All 6 people in my party were covered in mosquito bites. Everything is outdoors with no net for mosquitoes, the net has big holes for the birds. Transportation needed to get everywhere and it is super slow...lots of waiting. This ruined out trip. Food tasted old like it was made weeks ago and then reheated before serving you. 4 of 6 people got diarrhea. Alcohol is weak in all drinks, even when asking for a double. No reservations for any of the restaurants for any day of our trip. We decided to wait 1:30 and the steak came cold. If you buy the bottle of wine they try to upsell you for $120, then they are happy to seat you in any restaurant of your choosing.
