Everywhere on this property is a horrible sewage smell. The water and drains in the shower and sink smell. All around the property and in the restaurants smell of sewage. After you shower the smell is on your skin. We traveled with two other couples and this was the #1 complaint from us all.

Resort is a bit dated but bed was comfortable, shower was great, and everything was in working order. Great staff. Buffet was very good and dinner at the steakhouse was excellent. Main complaint is too loud music in the pool area. But was great value for what we paid.

Not returning to this resort. Don’t be fooled when it states check in is 3pm. We arrived at 5pm, waited in line to get to the counter. We were given a buzzer device and told that it would be a long wait and to return once our buzzer went off. After 1 1/2 hours our buzzer buzzed and we finally were able to check in. We were “upgraded” to the adult only section - which was fine with us as there were a ton of children at this resort. We were then told we needed to go to the Hideaway adult only lobby. There we waited in line again to get our bracelets activated. It’s now 7:30pm, we traveled all day and were tired and hungry. We go to our room finally. I check it out thoroughly, it was quite dated. First thing I noticed was weird red stains on the tub that was in the middle of the room. The towels had stains on them. There were hairs in the sheets. There was 1/2 a screw on the floor that would hurt if stepped on. One of my pillow cases had holes all over it. I immediately went to the lobby and told them the room was disgusting, I wanted to change rooms and if there was nothing available I wanted a refund and would change hotels. I presented pictures as well. They said there were no rooms available but would send someone right away to do a deep clean. We returned to the room at 8:45pm. Only the sheets were changed. The pillow with the holes was removed, not replaced. Hotel is dated. Fridge not restocked every day. Heard many other guests complaining.

The staff was wonderful. Food was much better than any other all inclusive we have been to. Noise level is good, no super loud pool parties in the middle of the day. Our room was very nice with a two full bathrooms. The sofa bed needs to be replaced but my son just decided to sleep on the large lounger and was comfortable

Food was mid. Zen was the only amazing restaurant. Settled for buffet the last two days. My robes and sheets were not clean upon arrival to my room. House keeping did change them out quickly. Room service food was always cold and took forever to arrive. The resort seemed more catered to kids and families. Wouldnt book again.

All around it was a good experience I like the resort the staff was friendly and kind. Shout out to Carlos in the breakfast section my server the food was always good despite the reviews. Nicholas clean my room every day but most time he didn’t leave enough towels but the room looks clean . Note for housekeeping the showers need to be scrubbed especially in the grout and the weave my was dirty room 9203. Not a bad experience will stay again.

I liked our vacation, I had a bit of a rocky start. I paid extra for a room that had a king size and a swim out and then I got there and they said there were none available. I had specifically chose that package to ensure a king bed and I was on my honeymoon and they did nothing to fix this. They let us know we could upgrade to have the perks of the hideaway adult only area but there was nothing they did to fix this issue and made us pay for the upgrade. It really put a damper on my first day of my honeymoon. Other than that the staff could be a bit more friendly. Some people were but I remember asking for a Caesar with white salt and a lime and the guy rolled his eyes at me while I had a $3 tip in my hand. I gave him the tip anyways in hopes that future experiences at that bar would get better but it never improved and that was at the bar beside the main swimming pool. Could definitely improve on customer service. I work in the service industry and I would never roll my eyes at a customer.

We had been to this location about 7 years ago and it was OUTSTANDING all around. It was shocking to see how much it had deteriorated. The service was awful- rarely could get a refill of even WATER! That was when they actually asked if we wanted any beverages. For a room with 4 guests, we had to argue daily to receive 4 bath towels. Staff were not helpful nor pleasant. The grounds and buildings are run down, falling apart. The facade tiles were missing, uneven pathways, cobwebs everywhere. The main areas now had staff badgering us to purchase services to the point we avoided the lobby entirely at times. Previously we were met with cold towels and beverages. This time we were met with a time share pitch, where we were guilted by being told that participating would help the staff member get her cancer treatment. The hibachi experience... it was unbelievably terrible- actually laughable!! Raw egg flung and hitting a patron and told not to worry about the yoke all over. Meat that fell off the grill was just picked up and cooked. The only enjoyable parts were the beach, even though getting beach towels seemed to be a daunting task equivalent to a scavenger hunt at times; the amazing people that ran the coffee cafe; and the gym and its staff. This experience has made us not want to book Royalton in any location!! Strongly suggest booking a different hotel if you are looking to travel to Mexico!!
