My husband and I went for our honeymoon and had a blast. We loved the resort and did not want to leave. The property was clean and the staff was welcoming and friendly. Only 2 minor complaints: swim out pool needed to be cleaned/skimmed more often & the staff knocked on our room door too much.

This property is beautiful. From the spacious room, service , food options pools and the beach area are amazing. Staff are very attentive and helpful. The only minus is the timeshare meeting. I would suggest if you attend please make sure you understand and read the contract if you’re willing to proceed. Overall is a wonderful stay and we will be back.

Superior to every other resort we have visited in the Riviera Maya. From the moment we arrived and throughout our stay the staff was genuinely friendly and helpful. The Preferred experience was definitely worth the extra $ because of better check-in, bar drinks and food choices. Although the property is large it seemed very intimate. Bring bug spray for mosquitoes at night. Smoking areas are available but limited. We'll be back for sure!

This place was perfect! The hotel itself is another wonderful Secrets: clean and luxurious with a 5 star level of services and pampering. The heart of the hotel is definitely dedicated and beyond friendly staff who do their absolute best to make you feel at home. They go above and beyond to provide a fun, accommodating, special experience. They all introduce themselves and eagerly want to assist you with anything and everything they can. There are certain members that need a shout out because they made my husband and I feel so spoiled the whole week we were there: Max, Gina, Carla, Carlos and Abraham were a few from the activities team, bartenders: Ivan and Moses from the swimup bar, Miguel and Samuel from poolside assistance and concierges Regina and José! These were just a few that specifically made our trip amazing. The food here is delicious, we had our favorite restaurants like the French and Asian places. My advice for those coming here from Maroma: they are like siblings, NOT twins. They have differences and Akumal is bigger with better snorkeling right next to the beach!
