Travelling as a single female for the first time I was quite nervous as to what to expect. I had checked out this hotel online and it seemed to have pretty good reviews, but I was booking last minute during a busy time of year (dia de los muertos) and on a budget since I am a grad student travelling for research, so it was not like I had too much choice. I will tell you I was more than pleasantly surprised! This place could not have been better for the circumstances. It was relatively inexpensive, I paid $50 a night, the room was recently renovated, bright and clean and the owners were just really wonderful. I was in the green villa (they are organized by colours not numbers). I had a huge king sized bed that faced my own little private garden through huge sliding glass doors. There was a TV, bed, 2 chairs and desk in the room and a little table with an umbrella outside. The bathroom had a place to hang your clothes, a towel rack, huge counter and sink, toilet, and a shower that was open to the bathroom, so it was a wet bathroom but I found the water did not really get anywhere. My room was attached to only one other so it was pretty quiet and private. I do not speak spanish so every morning the wife, Maria, would call a taxi for me to go into town. Her english is not perfect but more than enough for us to communicate, and when needed we got by with google translate.
