El hotel está hermoso, las enormes terrazas con una vista espectacular, si estás en buena forma y no te importa subir escaleras este es el hotel que quisieras sin duda Pero si no te gusta subir escaleras olvídalo no hay elevador

We loved our stay. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The only issue was the room did not have any drawer of closet space to put clothes. And the bathroom could have used some shelves as well. Other than that, the room was very well appointed and very clean!

Charming Views, Steep Climb, and Persistent Upsell
Our stay at this hotel presented both positives and negatives. The room was definitely a highlight: spacious, stylish, and very clean, with the restaurant's breathtaking view adding to its charm. However, the hotel's location on a steep hill was a major drawback. The lack of Uber service due to the incline meant a strenuous 10-story equivalent climb to our room, half of it without a ramp, requiring us to lug our luggage ourselves. The absence of an elevator in such a tall property was a surprising miss that should be clearly marked by Hotels.com as a warning! Dining at the only restaurant, though scenic, was less than comfortable since it was open-air. For breakfast and dinner, we were exposed to varying weather conditions, which made our meals less enjoyable. The staff's insistence on upselling was another downside. Despite the hotel being nearly empty, they placed us in probably the worst room they had and then demanded 1000 MXN pesos for a better one. A significant concern was also the absence of a fire alarm in our room, which cast doubts on the hotel's overall safety measures. In summary, while the room quality and views were impressive, the overall experience was marred by these issues. The lack of basic amenities and the staff's approach left us feeling more like targets for extra charges rather than valued guests.

Ilo Rojo is located in the outskirts of San Miguel de Allende, not in the city center, but you can be in dowtown SMA in 20 minutes, and take a bus for $16 (pesos mexicanos) that leaves you in front of the hotel. The hotel has very nice rooms and is quite new (5 years). The staff will bend over backwards to help you. It is an adult hotel, I would not recommend it for children or old people, but great for couples.

Very nice hotel, great views to the city, rooms were spacious and the beds were super comfortable . The property is in a hill which means that in 10 years we won’t be able to stay there do you our physical condition. It requires for you to go up a steep hill and steep stairs to get to property and rooms. But other than that the hotel was very cozy!

The hotel was very clean and felt very safe. Staff was awesome! Uber to center of town is under a 10 minute drive. Now, for the elderly, would not recommend due to the incline/stairs to get to the rooms. I would stay here again.

I was very disappointed in the overall stay. I stayed there to attend a wedding and not being from the area and the language barrier was difficult. I didn’t receive assistance from staff because the majority of them didn’t speak English or have someone that did. Housekeeping never replaced our towels or washcloths just one towel. Our air conditioner was always leaking and when I called the desk they just tried to mop it and not fix it. It’s a lot of walking to get to your room steep stairs. The hotel is a far distance from the main area so either you walk the hills to get there or taxis. You have to come with your money in pesos already because there’s no atms in sight and the hotel doesn’t change your money. They did set up the appointment for us to get our COVID test done. It was just a waste of money.
